Off to the Skies of Free Trips

cupswend.jpg

So this winter while you sat in your warm home, Brent and I dug through the Garbage Bins outside of Wendy’s on a few nights. Working just 3-4 nights we had enough cups to fly 12 times for free. What in the world am I talking about?

This winter Wendy’s had a promotion where you had to collect 64 cups for a round tripp ticket. Brent and I collected around 800 cups.

So now we're off to New Hampshire. A free trip... brought to you from the fun moments of dumpster diving.

Things to note:

-Its really hard to eat where you dumpster dive, your appetite is greatly curbed.

-I hate ketchup that much more now

The funniest experiences:

So there I was digging through the dumpster when over the intercom of the drive threw comes the words:

"If you are dumpster diving, Please do not make a mess"

When the police rolled up at another Wendy’s after attempting to describe what we were doing, not robbing the Wendy’s, the only thing that convinced them all we were dumpster diving was me coming out in my diving outfit. Rubber gloves, homeless man toboggan, garbage bag in hand and hanging out of my back pocket.

There response, after laughing hysterically, after a silence of disbelief. If you are that desperate to fly, go right ahead.

So there ya have it 4 nights of no shame and we are off for a free trip to New Hampshire, and to enjoy the Red Sox Last game of the season.

See Bigger Image Here, with names

Well Being the engineer / mathmatician I am... who can't spell but can calculate... I've created a weekly chart which shows each persons relative score to who is in the lead. The location of the top 10 is placed on this chart... track who has fallen off who is rising. (Simply look at the positive or negative first derivitive of the line which represents your score)... i.e. see if its going up or down... seems a few are slipping, but no one is having a steep rise on tremain... even after we curbed his cheating nature.

One of the Better Videos I've Seen In a While

Yesterday I saw OK Go's new video. All I have to say is this is pure genious. Coreographed use of Treadmills. GENIOUS! Just makes me think of the time I convinced Darcie when she was little to jump on a full speed treadmill. I'll never forget watching her sprawling boday being thrown full force into the wall.

Enjoy the video...

Rock Paper Scissors, This is Serious Stuff

Rock_paper_scissors.jpg

So for some reason this weekend it hit me... where did rock paper scissors start? Why do we all know about it?

First if you didnt already know, there is a world championship (for all of those who thought they weren't ready for world championship sports.

Also there is an official magazine.

But as for history, it seems to be debated, but whatever your belief, if the Nordics or the Japaneese invented it. (BTW in Japan it is called Janken). Either way it goes back nearly 2000 years ago.

So Rock Paper Scissors, something shared by much of humanity (Don't yall feel closer now).

A great article is found at Wikipedia.

(I particularly like the fact that a court case a couple of years ago in Florida was solved by a game of rock paper scissors).

So when shall we have our own championship? Get those hands in shape and ready to throw down some rock paper scissors...
