Megan (Sunday) Pretend its Friday it is yeah...

omegan.jpg

Nagemnotned,

You dont know her? you dont know the Nagem? Well maybe you're not dyslexic like myself and others.... So ... well Megan Denton. Ol Megan. While her father had hoped her to be a boy so he could take her fishing, and everything else, she still made him happy by taking up those skills among others. Anyways, Megan made the big step of graduation this week. And well we enjoyed her graduation party from stepping in cow pies to eating bugs. Good times good times.

While her dad would always say I am a bad influence, causing her to be a bit more insane ever time she's around me... well what can I say... I like to insprie.

Anyway, add your stories about Megan...

They Laughed and Laughed... now they will fall apart.

phish.jpeg

Well on a musical note big news this week. Phish has declared their forthcoming end! At the end of this summers tour, their will be no more Phish! At least Phishheads have been able to come off their addiction more easilty since Phish did disband for a while. But the call is Phish comes to an end soon. (Listen to some phish, listen to NPR story).

Is this a marketing ploy to get more to come to their shows this summer. I'm not sure, but it doesnt look like it. After tons of albums, and creating a following that has not been rivaled since the Grateful Dead, its over.

I'm not really a big Phish fan ( I do like rift, a great album. Check the added review in the music section). But you have to respect their role in musics formation.

On other music news... seems we now have a strange glimpse of what the world would have been like if Thom Yorke had been born in Kansas, or forced to work at Dollywood. Be afraid!

Quote Wednesday (Carry on the Tradition)

"I didnt live 74 years for nothing! I've lived that long so I can be looney and say what ever comes to my mind, and no one can question it"

-A sister in a congregation in Utah talking to me after the meeting

"Oh this is nasty, it has everything in it no candybar should ever have in it!"

-My response after I bit into a "famous" Idaho Spud Candy Bar.

Add your quotes! (And dont eat Idaho Spud Bars!).

Everything you never needed to know about Idaho (and a little about burgers)

Ah... to explore. It is one of the great things in life.

I was able to see where Evil Canival tried to jump the snake river and failed. (Now that I have seen it in person, i for sure know how crazy he was). But in his honor, on the bridge in front of the proposed jump location, people were still free base jumping. I watched a guy packing his parachutte, preparing for his second jump (or chance to die) today.

I also visited Craters of the Moon, NASA once this would be similar to the terrain of the moon. Therefore early astronauts visited this park to learn what to expect of maritan geology.

Finally I visited Arco, where I ate an atomic burger at pickle's in the first city to be lighted by nuclear energy. Idaho has more nuclear plants than anywhere in the world. (I believe the key is Idaho is a whole lot of nothing... so if something goes wrong; well, like 15 familys will get fried and have to move after the fallout).

Oh and another exciting moment:

They were serving Hot Hamburgers in this little Cafe. I've not seen them since I was in Eastern Canada. For those confused, a hot hamburger is a piece of bread, then the burger, then peas, then brown gravy.

Seems more than candians like it: Candians and Idohnians.

In another land

Today I find myself in Utah, the home of many things, ok (not to many things)… but the home of the Mormon. Yesterday I spoke with a Mormon. Two things that I found interesting.

1) High Morals: Bibles view of morals held, also any alcohol viewed as wrong

2) Low Morals: Mormons believe you should fight for your country. Therefore, I was told during World War II there was Mormons fighting on both the axis and allies sides of the war.

3) Future Hope: Mormons believe that there are 3 levels of hope. If you're not a good person, what you receive is everlasting life in a paradise. Interesting there worst case scenario, is my hope.

Oh well... thats enough for now. But just for a note. If you ever do spell check, and the word Mormon is inside the text. Well it will change it to moron. (made that mistake in high school once as I wrote about the Moron Trail).

Alan AK AJ Friday

monkey.jpg

OK, so maybe thats not allen, but it is whats always on his MSN login.
Send me your allen pictures

Anyway its allen Friday. Allen has been quiet helpful in getting this site actually initally started, with his computer expertise. But maybe we should question that expertise. Sure he has writen computer code thats on the spacestation, and has flown on the shuttle. But but...

You see this past weekend, I discovered a little site that reads text to you, check it out its pretty cool! Anyway, we made a couple of calls to Allen stating that the phone network had aquired a virus, and that there was a problem. After about two calls (and both myself and Reggie denieing knowledge of what was going on).... then we left this message (listen to it). Well seems this all seemed very convincing to allen. For last night when we were talking, he said he had contacted the fraud department at Verizon. Speaking of the strange messages, asking if there was a virus. They stated he was a bit crazy to think there was a virus, and as for the caller - contact the police. They even spent a few days trying to trace the call. Their conclusion the number didnt exist. Hahaha... well seems we've beet the system. But anyways Allen is happy now to know he isn't going to have any excessive charges from Russia this month.

Oh, and if you dont know who allen is, maybe you need to listen to his voice.
A friday first - Its the allen song, sang by he himself! (listen)

So something interesting

Creative Writing is still available, but how about something to inspire.

I recieved the following picture today. (It was a picture for Uju Friday, check out the picture I choose instead (And you cant deny I drew him just like he looks)) (And since he has already threatened my life, I should just go all out, right?!).

01 023.jpg

As I looked at this I realized. Oh my, well queit a few things. So for creative writing today, write down what each person is thinking.

Oh and what was I thinking... Well Javann always compares himself to the Hulk. But never before Have I seen it captured on film, him going through the transformation.

Until today... this other picture was taken only moments after the above picture.

CHECK IT OUT!

A couple things to take note of:

Do you need to change oil in your car? Well its back, free oil (high quality synthetic) after rebate!

And yet another music festival pokes its ugly head up. (Ugly for most of it is ugly... City Stages in Birmingham 6/18-6/20).

If you buy your ticket this week, you'll save 8 bucks.

My opinion... only go Friday... You then get Fountains of Wayne, Fuel, and Live.

Quote Wednesday (We've had lots of em)

"Lightening Bugs just don't taste Good"

-Brother Brazelton, talking about the marvels of creation at the bookstudy.

(And yet another moment where we bust up laughing as a bookstudy group, present average major laughing moment at our bookstudy 3-4. hahaha).

Add your quotes.

For the Birds: (A great time to appreciate them)

Ah another great study speaking of God’s great Creative Power. One of the most interesting points was equating His creative ability to one of his expressions of power! Anyway, today here are some more facts to help you marvel at the creative works and Power manifest in there creation.

Take the following facts:

Speaking of Birds: The Red Knot is a Bird which flies from Brazil to the Artic every year. During this flight, it will fly nonstop for a portion from Brazil to New Jersey. Flying for 130-190 hours nonstop. The only thing it eats in Jersey is Horseshoe crab eggs, which happens to be at the exact time, available. What an amazing arrangement (well except for unborn Horseshoe crabs).

bfly.jpg

Speaking of almost Birds (Butterflies) (And you know I'd be talkin about Butterflies): The Monarch spends the winter in the same wintering grounds in California and Mexico every year. Some travel 2000 miles in their life. But it is there life cycle that is amazing:

1) The butterfly spend the winter in trees in Mexico
2) This generation flies north, and lays eggs and dies very soon.
3) In 4 days the eggs hatch; caterpillar lives 9-14 days. Then in 15 days, transform to a butterfly. They only live a few weeks.
4) This swells the population, and the final summer generation will live 6-9 months (so if you are a monarch, you definitely want to be born late in the summer).
5) These then fly south, and wait at the gulf coast until a cold front comes through. They then fly non stop 500 miles across the Gulf Coast in one day.

Speaking of Whales: Some whales migrate over 6000 miles

Yes amazing is how precise and exact everything is. Its funny humans often don’t know what there purpose should be, or what they want to do or be. But not the rest of creation: I mean animals do specific jobs…. They instinctivly know what they are to do. We don’t’ have Bees with Identity crisis. Now what am I going to do… I think I’ll be a termite, no a fly… (and thank goodness). Yes what power of creative works!

Otutu Uju (And alot more oohs) Kamalu Friday

uju.jpg

We finally got a picture of Uju, compare to see how accurate our drawing is (Yes and he is in his long flowing garment of manliness

Today is Uju Friday... And Uju Friday brings to end a false sense of security everyone has. The long held belief is that if I have no picture of you, then there will be No Friday. But as you see today, I am an aspiring (or is it perspiring?...) artist. And therefore with the magic of Paint was able to whip out this picture in no time. (And it looks just like him too eh?).

Anyways... Uju Kamaluo. I think I first noticed this Brother (and I say that in the fullest sense of the word)... At an assembly here in Hville where he was wearing his native African Garb (True he never lived in Africa, but his parents did and are from Nigeria... so it just gives Uju a good excuse to wear a dress... (or is it a muumuu no no thats Korean... Lets just Call it a Nigerian Long Flowing Garment of Manliness). Anyways he really stuck that day.

But Uju really cracks me up, an interesting perspective on the world. True he does call me cheap, and say I dont eat enough... but its all good. True he is one of the few people that calls me "Brother Myers" as if he doesn’t know who I am, or that I am years older being his elder...

And who will ever forget his statement "I'm 100% a ladies man" (Sure taken out of context, kinda... but this is misconstrued thoughts).

And well the biggest inside joke on Uju, well we wont go there... but Uju... you have no proof to help your dot com theory now.

But yeah, after years of Pain, Uju completes hes college education this week... and now is off to his admirable spiritual goals.

Anyways, add your stories about uju... or draw your own drawing and post it ... or send it to me! (well if you have a picture you can send it too...)

Create the Writing on a Thursday

Welcome to another addition of Creative Writing Thursday...

Add your own writings!

I Long for the Day...

When my greatest joy
was a box I made a useless toy

a popsicle would make my day
and in the above very box I would stay

The castle of the box would be
Any where my minds eye could see

The simple things once were here
and all of life I did not fear

The greatest danger all around
was what my imagination had gone and found

Dragons and lions, snakes and bears
My imagination the home of my greatest cares

As I am older I now know
It is what I fear "life is no show"

Pain and sorrow real from within
Away from those thought I'd like to tend

The naiveness the innocents of ones youth
May these in reality continue to be our truth.

Probably the difference between man and the monkeys is that the monkeys are merely bored, while man has boredom plus imagination.

So You Know Your a Little Spec of Nothing?

FG23_001.jpg

(Maybe this picture will help you see what the galactic center is... and where we are!)

So this weeks lesson is one of those which just makes you think. Its the lesson which always got me excited and has always made me appreciate wow... how Powerful an expression of Gods Power Creation is!

I was reminded that really a nice summation of all these facts was brought to the fore by TMBG back in the day, so for your listening pleasure, check this tune (2MB). So Just let me know if you end up singing this as a comment at a meeting... it would be quiet memorable... and highly unrecommended!.

But as for some other facts to share for the lesson this week

-Various Sun facts, listen to the above song

- The speed of light is such that you could travel around the earth 7.5 times in one second

-Galaxies are organized into clusters (we are in the cluster called The Local Group (really original eh?)) (There are 20 galaxies in our cluster, but some clusters have 10,000 galaxies). In a cluster the average distance between each galaxy is 10 galaxy diameters. Then these clusters are organized into super clusters. (At this point you should feel really small This site will help even more, or maybe make you feel big?).
-The amount of water that evaporates every year 100000 mi^3 is equivalent to: If the whole earth was covered in water, at a depth of 2.7 feet, that amount would evaporate.

-Rocket scientist Dr. Wernher von Braun (Father of NASA) stated: "The natural laws of the universe are so precise that we have no difficulty building a spaceship to fly to the moon and can time the flight with the precision of a fraction of a second. These laws must have been set by somebody."

-And finally I thought the description of Jupiter made it sound like the bug zapper of our solar system.

Elizabeth Friday jumpin the Lilly Pond

liz.jpg

So it is Elizabeth Friday, there is a good chance many of you have not ran into Elizabeth for she is from South Africa. (But for those who do know her, don’t forget to add some stories) I must say our trip to Africa would not have been the same without Elizabeth around. I received an email from her this week, stating she was going to accomplish her dream... be a mountain guide. That’s right she is the naturalist type, and looks forward to leading people into the great unknown known as nature.

But I found this quiet Interesting? Why? Maybe one near death experience?

Watch this video to see an Elizabeth Led Expedition (WMV 2MB)

But we did make it back, and true I did have to lead the way home, for Elizabeth didnt know how to get home. (Yes, She was from Africa, I was from the US and I led the way home) (OK to her credit she had lived in the UK the last few years).

Anyways, speaking of driving Elizabeth gave me great advice on driving. Telling me how I didnt need to worry... what am I talking about ? Just watch the video.

Watch a Video about driving in South Africa compliments of Elizabeth (WMV 1 MB)

OK.... so a bit poorer ... we did complete the trip... and one thing is true... Elizabeth did make the trip more interesting... and she is a nice gal.

In fact she even tried to speak our language.

So if you ever meet Elizabeth (You know on an expedition ... Lord be with you) tell her I said Hi, and enjoy her company. (J/K... J/K Elizabeth).

Deepless Thoughts Monday

Welcome to another edition of Deepless Thoughts. On our last experience we learned that 72% of participating Misconstrued Readers feel you could die from Brain Freeze. Upon a few test, we were unsuccessful, but strangely it did create a French Accent in all participants.

Today’s Question:

Is it more Inhumane to eat an apple while it is still attached to the tree? (Thus Eating it while it is technically still alive?)

Answer Yes or No

Keep those Viruses at Bay

So If you haven’t got it already... there is a pretty powerful worm that has hit the net... (Sasser, not to be confused with small annoying dogs).

make sure you have everything updated all the time... you get this virus by simply being connected to the internet for more than 10 minutes...

if you have recent virus updates, and latest windows updates, you'll be fine.

What it does
