Don't Forget

Give the People What the Want

OK its not quote Wednesday but that is what the Kinks proclaimed on their 1981 Album.

So what do people want? Discounts? Yes.

OK, well i was informed last night that I am not keeping people well informed as to the discoveries of Captain Clearance. So Quickly a few things I've Stumbled upon.

1) (Record Companies in Trouble) Music Legally distributed in Russia. Russia has a different kind of take on music Downloading. For that reason, certain sites have been set up which allow you to download tons of music for mere dollars. There is a review of the top site here. But you'd better act quick for starting April 11th. No longer do they have the base rate ($15 for 1000 songs). After this its a per MB cost. Read the reviews, and comments, and draw your own conclusion. But notice this on importing. But Then read the law (it sounds differnt). And for refrence they say the best format is Codec LAME Quality Selection Standart.

2) (Phone Companies in Trouble) Voice over IP is the wave of the future. It is a phone that works like a normal phone, however instead of using phone lines it uses your cable internet connection. For $15 a month (notice $15 seems to be the magic cost) you get 500 long distance minutes. I've had it for a week now, and it seems to be much better than my cell phone and near quality to a normal land line. Check out Vonage. The only caveat I've found is they only have phone numbers for large cities. So your area code may be from a different area. (If you plan to sign up let me know, I can send you a discount since I am a member). But my review "so far so good".

3) (Mass Storage In Trouble)If you need a 4GB Microdrive (For a Digital Camera Etc) If you can find a Creative Nomad MuVo2, it has a removable drive inside. This allows you to obtain the drive for 185 dollars instead of 500. I completed this expermint last night, and now am the owner of tons of storage space. (Now my 400 GB of Harddrive space will never be enough.
That concludes the latest on what you need to know to save yourself a little $.

The Excitement Equals that of two times in (music) History

Two bands in my past have I struggled to see. It was with great effort that I was able to go enjoy there show.

Radiohead - I traveled 10 hours to enjoy a show, just to find it was cancelled. I tried to get tickets for closer shows, they were sold out. I flew to New York... with a near cancellation. But then... then... after years I enjoyed two shows (which I have on DVD now at high quality email me if you need a copy).

Toad the Wet Sprocket - My favorite band for years. I missed a concert when in high school as I was moved to go to North Carolina instead. Then on there last tour before they split up (preinternet days) I got a flyer in the mail of there show in Nashville 4 days after is happens. But finally finally after years, I was able to see them on a snowy day in Cincinnati (and that 3 hour wait on the interstate due to that crash (not mine)... almost prevented this from happening).

But today TODAY ....

its announced MUSE is GOING TO BE IN ATLANTA. NEXT FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And what is better you can buy 1 get 1 ticket free right now!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally they have left Europe. Happiness abounds. And I will see you at the show!!!!!!!

Lea and Judi Friday Eh?

IMG_1740 (Small).JPG

LeJudJerm? Ah it has been said before I am the missing one to complete the triplet trinity of LeJudJerm... True? Well not sure about that. But Lea and Judy are definitly the Most Misconstrued of Candada eh?

This week I broke down and got a home phone... (OK... Its not a normal phone for those gasping... it works through the intrenet (down with the phone companies)) The beauty of this is I can call anywhere in the world for virtually nothing... in fact I can call Canada for nothing. Since its been a year, I gave ol LeJud (They will be refered to by this collective term this point forward) a call. Ah no doubt the surprise and confusion for them. (Always the intsertion of What? I cant understand your accent). Ah but to hear that British Colubia accent, took me back.

For as any non local visits the south you have to give them the full concept of what its about. You know, putting peanuts in your coke, drinking a Dr. Enuf, having some BBQ, visiting the music city, (as well as NASA).

Ah good times. And these gals are talented too... I just got some pics from them (posted in the future) Lea is a great photographer (and from the pics looks like Jud is a great snowboarder). [oops i did say i was going to use Lejud from that point on... ok... this point on...]

Also they sent me a card last week... (its rare i get mail so this is a major event). And sent fed ex none the less. Now you would think getting a "Its a boy" card or something of that nature would be rare... but actually this is my fourth (one from my congregation when i moved, one from relatives, one from friends here, one from canada)... subliminal messages? I dont know what it is...

But tis LeJud Friday Eh? So use Eh? as much as you can today for Eh? is the greatest word ever created and a great way to pay tribute to LeJud ... Eh?

Add your comments ... Eh?

So ya wanna be a rockstar?

IMG_5622 (Small).JPG
A Coup of the Stage, after the lead singer was thrown from the stage... I started singing.

OK, maybe thats not true, but I did sing on stage with them....

Saturday night, we headed down to Bham for a little Phantom planet. I must say Phantom Planets new album is one of the most disappointing purchases I have made in a while. Musically it is OK, but completely not what I was expecting. I had always appreciated Phantom Planets, indie pop rock sound. Cheery, happy, pretty lo key. But the new album threw them showed a totally different band in there sound. More the popular Garage Rock filling the air waves the last couple of years.

In other words a total sell out in my estimation.

But the show was still pretty good. Unfortunately no early indie pop stuff. Yet, the venue was small and the show good. The music is much better live than on the CD.

Yet the highlight... they invited people on stage. Seems I noticed an open mic, after Tommy’s lack of desire to take advantage of the situation... I found myself on the stage singing with Phantom, to one of there recent rifting works. Something for the resume and the checkmark book of life.

What if?

ut4 (Small).jpg

What if the sea of crimson that flowed into Bryant-Denny Stadium through the fall season was clad with the abbrasion of Tennessee Orange?

This weekend I visited the A game. A preseason Alabama game where Albama has lose every year it has happened. (Some would say they have won every year, but its just perspective). This year was no different. However through my eyes I wondered what the stadium would look like if all the fans were clad in Tennessee Orange. Ugly? More so yes. Dramatic? More so yes. But one thing seems seemed certain. Alabama did not look extremely impressive. But the Alabama campus was an impresively clean neat campus. (Oh and I finally understand the A which I was always thinking was an Atlanta braves symbol in the wrong color).

So no dont adjust your monitor. Misconstrued is still home to a Tennessee fan, but that wont prevent me from visiting a good ol A game with "Orange Tinted Glasses". But my real question, why is it "Tennessee Orange" at least Alabama's Crimson makes sense.

Marks a... (Nah Not really) Friday

DSCN0060 (Small).JPG

So two things bestow this "honor" upon Mark... You know his own Friday. First was the find of the classic song about him this week. The other the text message he sent me.

In his never ending pursuit to cause harm to himself he headed up to Canada, for a continued adventure from a couple of years ago. In the course of this trip I get a text message

"I got charged by a bear today"

I promptly asked if it was a "Grizzly" to ensure he had not been tricked into believing they exist... he responded

"No they don’t exist"
"I was about 8 yards away from him when he charged"

Now obviously mark has made a mistake here. True we all know that Grizzly bears do not exist. But this is not to be confused with the fact that Bears do exist. So don’t fall into the mistake of Mark, it could be dangerous. In fact falling into this "Mark" thought pattern could be very hazardous to your health.

But that’s a different story.

The funny thing about Mark is his ability to take abuse. I think it was about 2 years ago I went home, and noticed the new saying of the congregation was "Its Marks Fault..." Interesting indeed... especially when its even during a meeting.

Ah but Marks a sport.

Back in the day though he was truly annoying. The 5 week trip doing unassigned territory, and backpacking almost led to his demise (by me). But as the years have gone by Mark has mellowed out and Mark is actually an OK guy. Up for whatever (particularly if its crazy).

All that remains of those highly annoying years is a classic song. A classic song written about him. Lost for years till the exciting find this week. By the group Kaizen, it would inspire some of the other great artist of the day. And for your listening pleasure it is here today.

Kaizen - Marks a Jerk

And no, no Marks not a Jerk (remember the last verse...)

Oh and mark is working on his photography skills... here's a picture from his recent jaunt to Canada.

Add your Mark quotes and stories today on Mark Friday.

Creative Writing Thursday

Tis Creative Writing Thursday. Add you writings. Be amused as you amuse!

A Word to the "Wise"

So many people speak as if to know
big words and thoughts to all they throw

On every growing word they endeavor to convince
that its all the others that are truly dense

They ride upon this high seated position
For no one ever questions on any condition

For if its refined or if its wrought
The question is Who's really taught?

You will see congruity will always grow
But the fact be epiphany will truly show

Those who are taught are those who question
All can be genius if they heed this lesson

Retro Wednesday

xmame-pacman (WinCE).gif

Back in the day nothing matched pacman. (Actually I always prefered Qbert... I can still rememember seeing that game for the first time in a laundry mat when we were on a family camping trip. And I actually got a quarter to play, it lasted about 32 seconds).

Anyways... Todays games in there 3D complexity confuse me. I enjoyed the old 2-D games where the objective was obvious and you could have fun the first time you played. There was no learning curve.

So today we have pacman. Simply Click play below. Record your high score! (And only take one try to make it fair).
Special Instructions : Use mouse to click 'Start' , Use your arrow keys to move Up/Down Left an Right. Press "M" to Mute/Unmute sound, and "P" to Pause/Unpause the game.

A weekend of Disconnect

Wow I just survived 3 days with no internet connection! It was difficult but I somehow pulled through. But I did realize an abnormal dependence on the WWW. For instance:

No connection through email - My phone tells me I'm getting email, but no way of knowing what is going on. I just get the title such as "Hurry, go to this site now for a free car". So now I continue to drive the ol Malibu.

I wake up for service need a weather report - I head in to check the weather quickly on weather.com, but alas no internet. I ended loosing 3 toes to frost bite Saturday.

Need an address to get somewhere - I head to check whowhere.com, but once again no connection. I ended up lost, but did enjoy a nice visit to this place called Minot, ND.

In search of a coupon - Go to google for a coupon, you know no connect. I end up paying REGULAR price for something. The world gasp!

And the list goes on... But I have recovered. I am connected again. I think the problem is someone didnt pay their taxes... oh yeah me... gotta go do that now.

Whos Friday is this? The American Taxpayers

IMG_4970 (Small).JPG

Ah yes, the american taxpayer. He who pays my bills. And lets me walk on the beach - sit on my ocean view balcony and such. Darryl made it clear that this site is a disappoinment into seeing how his tax dollars are being used. "Where is Jeremy now?"

So today we salute those who are paying their taxes come the end of this month. Don't forget to pay on time, I have to pay the electric bill (if not, then the thoughts will no longer be misconstrued). (The weird thing about this, is when I pay taxes, its like I'm paying myself to go to work, in a weird kind of way, i've still not figured that one out). Thanks again... and I'll be home tonight thanks to the private jet ride, thanks for lookin out for me.

Oh For a prettier view Vist the photo section.

But really I do have to get to work. Why do yall make me go to work so early? Remember I work for you.

In the News with a Quote

Well if you have not heard, McDonalds will soon remove their supersize items from the menu. This is so us "Stupid Americans" (the quotes be my own maybe I should just say "Stupid Humans" yes that is better) will not eat ourselves to death. (Has anyone ever heard of common sense and will power?)

But why stop there? If people are to stupid to realize they should not eat massive amounts of food we need to take preventitive measures everywhere. I mean when you buy a gallon Ice cream what prevents me from eating the whole thing? I could be intelligent and know I shouldn't eat the whole thing, but that is not logical to think I have that capability. So Basically everything should be sold in single serving sizes only! My point keep the supersize fries and call it "Family Size".

On a further note. It was reported today JAMA has stated that obesity from poor eating habits and inactivity will soon replace smoking as the leading cause of preventable death in the United States. Sad indeed. So obviously something needs to happen... what? I refer to a couple of my favorite artist for this

'Most people gaze neither into the past nor the future; they explore neither the truth nor lies. They gaze at the television'

-Radiohead

Burn your tv in your yard
And gather ’round it with your friends
And warm your hands upon the fire
And start again

-Toad the Wet Sprocket

(And I am proud to note I rid myself of Cable yesterday... not that I ever watched it anyway).

So What is this Thing Called Music?

pollok.jpg

Music... What Defines it? Much like art, well there is no direct definition. Just as art is a world of visionaries and followers... Music is the same. Since being a visionary can be defined as anything new, a point can be reached when what is new is questioned as ever being.

My point... Music which sounds like noise. Once I was troubled by the "Noise" of Public Image Limited, or the Talking Heads. I developed an understanding. Then I was troubled by the greater "Noise" of "The Orb" and other abstract ambient Techno Artist. But then I developed an understanding.

Last night I came across the next level, a form of music called Atonal. A style of music in which there is no standard sound, just noises. It is the equivalent of Jackson Pollock’s work in the art world (Fun to make but definitely not the same as an Escher or Rembrandt or Degas) (And if you want to try it out go to this site and make your own Pollock (see its easy!)!)

The Musician I found and refer to is Iannis Xenakis. A classical composer who used noise static any sound in fact to make music. But all this music was the combination of mathematical laws and sounds. It was harmonious for the equations creating it, not the sounds. The problem? Well this is what happens when us Engineers/Scientist/Mathematicians delve into the world of art, something odd is created. Nothing short of some which will be on the Misconstrued Album, this should inspire all to create.

Listen to one of his songs, it will inspire all that they too can be artist! (and possibly be a "great" artist.

Iannis Xenakis - Diamorphosis II

Iannis xenakis - concret p-h II

For those who call this there favorite music, well I applaud you, for your patience and vision is beyond that of mortals.

They are more than for kids...

balon.jpg

So a trip back home, back to my roots, and those who helped make those roots. In other words, a weekend of interesting activities. Most interesting involving balloons. Larry (See Larry Friday) was sharing in his annual Meteorological Study of wind patterns with the release of multiple balloons, on which are printed a return address. He has actually had these balloons returned to him from 100's of miles away. Hey and who doesn’t enjoy watching balloons being freed!? I think we should have National Save the Balloons day where we shall release 1000's of balloons.

Of course then there were the moments with Kevin (See Kevin Friday). Which as predicted included highly volatile mixtures of gas, and explosions? I have to say I have never seen or heard such a large explosion! Ah fun in TN. As always don’t try at home. (Go to TN).

Kevin Friday... Keep the Flammables Away!

DSCN0045 (Medium).JPG

So... the other night I get on the phone... dial up ol Kevin... In a matter of seconds, there he is

"What up Homes" ... thus begins a normal Kevin conversation

Good ol Kevin, definitely one of my bestest of friends. A good ol country boy who likes his mud, likes his four wheelers, likes a good comical video. You will meet few people in your life more layed back than Kevin. And that among many things make him very cool. Oh and fire, let me tell ya he's right up there in the list of pyros i've ever known (of course we were a team).

Let me relate a story on the two above aspects:

We had headed to Tsali for some fun mountain biking moments (Kevin a good ol mountain biker as well (Nice Trek 8000). Anyway, We had the great idea of kicking around a flaming Tennisball. So after soaking it in some flammables, we're kicking it around, like some good ol boys from TN would be. Well I have the genius idea, hey we've got this flammable, in this little squirt bottle. I formulate an idea with Tanner (the other guy there). And i walk over and squirt the flammable up in down Kevin’s leg, he doesn’t even notice. Meanwhile, tanner aims for the perfect kick... right to Kevin. As Kevin kicks the tennis ball... up he goes.... well his pants at least. We are laughing hysterically... Kevin as well... just thinking of the stupidity of us kicking a flaming tennis ball around. Yet... soon we had to tell him... hey your pants are on fire (actually his coveralls, pretty thick so guess he didn’t feel anything). Next came Kevin’s high shrieked scream (if you've heard it you know what i mean). In the end... Kevin just defines it as hilarious. Now see a easy goin pyro. (Oh and dont try this... only trained pyros can safly pull this off).

Then there was that time he let us bury him standing up. Now that took forever!

Anyways, we've had some goodtimes. His wedding was a blast. (See the POM site for a view of us at his wedding in our Tux Shorts). Oh and right before his wedding we took him off for a fun in the mountains trip... back at Tsali. Then a pyro film in its greatness was produced. Actually.... well Actually... its called Actually. So watch Actually (12MB Quicktime).

And now well its years later, and Kevin has kids... OK that makes it seem forever ago...so its been a couple of years later and Kevin has 1 kid... but he is balding. OK we didnt have to go there, sorry Kevin. Good ol Kevin. If you don’t know him... ya should he's always up for a good laugh.

Click on the "Read More" to see my entry.

Dear Sir,

Hello, my name is Jeremy. I have noticed for the last few years your team has been at the bottom of the standings. I feel what you need is a dynamic element to add a twist to your lineup. My proposal, a professional fouler on your team. I know this may be a new term to you, but let me explain.

I was raised in the foothills of Tennessee. We played basketball on the farm quiet a bit. Getting a black eye or a busted mouth or even knocked unconscious was just part of the game. True, this would lay people out of the game for a while. I'm no the biggest guy, so I had to learn to perform "significant fouls" but always make them look like accidents. (This is the only way I could prevent getting beat-up). I believe these skills I have refined would be well suited for your team. By performing "significant fouls" for your team, I could "takeout" key players of the opposing team (at least for a few minutes). I believe my skill of performing these "significant fouls" while creating the appearance of a non-intentional foul could be quiet useful to the Hawks.

Such Methods are already used in other sports. Adding this dynamic element, could take the Hawks from the bottom of the standings to the top! I am willing to form a contract at the low end of the contract spectrum. Therefore, I believe the best explanation of what I will bring the team is an amazing bargain for my dynamic unique talent.

Please contact me ASAP so I can plan for the next seasons games. I wear a size 11 shoe, have a 34 waist, and usually wear a medium jersey. (Although an NBA medium may be different). I figure you will need this information when getting my jersey for next season. I am willing to go by a made up name to if you think it will be more NBA like... maybe Massacre Myers or Jerm Warfare. I also am willing to support any endorsements you would like to take advantage of.

Look forward to working with you.

Sincerely,

"Jerm Warfare"

Without a hitch... wait?

IMG_5510 (Small).JPG

So this weekend, the wedding went off without a hitch... well there was a hitch, but it was the expected one (if there was no hitch, then we couldnt say without a hitch...)

Welcome to early Monday confusion.

Then of course there is the dancing. Dancing is great fun, a time when you dont care what anyone thinks, your only goal is to get your heartrate equivalent to a 140BPM Techno Beat. And when they pull out a little Bjork (good choice Sara) what is gonna happen but good fun? Some may question my style of dance, others may just have sayed (style? hahahah). Either is OK, but you know one thing... its fun. So next time, no bars just follow Tommys lead as he dances like an indian, or follow Kevin, Mr. Dance Floor Smooth. But I recomend What I have before.... Dance like Thom (since he did rip me off)!

BUT ON A DIFFERNT NOTE..... COME BACK TOMORROW... ITS TIME FOR ANOTHER MISCONSTRUED CONTEST! WE'VE NOT HAD ONE SINCE THE VIDEO CONTEST, AND WE KNOW THAT WENT OVER BIG ... OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT
