Quote Wednesday... on a Wednesday...

EG-018.jpg

"You Don't Have Issues, You have a Life Time Subscription"

-Jeremy

(That shall have to end up on a Tshirt)

But with that quote in mind, I would like to share a link to a Personality Disorder Test. Is it serious? Well I dont think so, doesnt look professional really in anyway... but entertaining none the less....

So after taking it (took about 5-10 minutes I guess)...I find I suffer as a Histrionic Not sure that definition describes me... but...

So I'm Histrionic... (site described it as being center of attention) hmm well sorry guess I do like to amuse and entertain... Oh well if thats gonna be my disorder tis not to bad I guess...

Share your quotes and disorders if you care too.... and remember its all misconstrued... thats life eh?

You cant get no more southern than this!

DSCN0106 (Small).JPG

When people think the most southern point in the US, the almost always think of Key West. In fact as you see in this picture, there is even a monument there, stating this fact.

However more southern than this is a point in Hawaii (not the state the big island... well the state too) This is the true most southern point in the US. Our voyage took us here. And a pretty amazing spot it proved to be. The water was so clear you could see 100's of feet away. What appeared to be a few feet was much more than. The only way to the water was either through a hole in the cliff, down a ladder, or off the cliff (watch Reggie try the later) (WMV file).

So Hawaiians, are they the true southerners (or is even Florida worthy of this title)? Well let me ask you, are they familiar with biscuits and gravy? Is grits part of their Dialect? Would you ever run across Overalls as the native garb (what is a MooMoo anyway?) What do Yall think? (Although Hawaiians do have the proper view of the importance of BBQ... maybe they are southern?)

December 29, 2003

So lets say you stumbled onto the Super Bowl!

IMG_4218 (Small).JPG

It seems when ever we go on a trip (who ever we may be) we end up at the right place at the right time....

*Visit White Sands NM the only day of the year you can visit Trinity Point (where the tested the first Nuclear Bomb)

*Visit Mt Saint Helens the exact day it erupted 20 years earlier so as to get in free and find out more than usual

*End up being able to sleep on Halfdome although usually takes much advance preparation (end up there with no preparation)

*Working temp at Bethel on YTK new years (not that I had any part in the festivities, but it was the one place on earth getting all the attention as supposed imminent doom was to fall)

*Being in Miami for one of the few times it has ever snowed in history

So thats just a few, and why should our trip to Hawaii be any different? So we are headed up to the north shore, (some of the greatest surfing in the world! We expect to watch some good surfing. But instead we stumble into the finals of the world championship. It’s being covered by ESPN and all that! We are talking the super bowl of surfing! Pretty Cool! So with all my camera gear, my long 300mm Zoom lens I head out to take pictures with the rest of the reporters, media, etc. Kinda cool... it was my moment of being part of the Paparazzi. So there ya have it the right place at the rite time! (Another right place at the right time in the future (a few occurred on this trip)).

December 28, 2003

So we made it back...

After about 14 hours... from leaving Honolulu to returning to Huntsville, well we have made it back. Back home to sweet home (mainland). In the coming days, i'll share stories, videos, pictures, and quotes! For now enjoy the picture section of our site!

December 25, 2003

After 18 miles....

OK, just got back from a massivly long hike! As I stated before, in search of lava. Were our efforts rewarded? Most definitly! Not only did we get within inches of flowing lava... the volcano actually erupted while we were there. I wouldnt believe it either unless I had been there. It wasnt a huge eruption, but it was spewing lava up into the air, I mean it was just like a godzilla film. (Although the only film being completed during the eruption was the Kungfu/Musical which nears completion!). I was a bit worried when the helicopter was flying around us with a spot light on us... (maybe we wasnt supposed to be there?) But I never saw the barrier that said do not pass this point. But alas I forgot my hotdog, so I could cook a hotdog on an active volcanoe... always next time I guess. (Of course the ranger said we probably wouldnt see anything anyway (boy was she wrong)).

Anyways... the adventure continues... we return to Oahu tomorrow. For all those taking notes. THE BIG ISLAND IS VERY VERY COOL! Pictures, videos n such in the future!

December 24, 2003

Tuesday... the adventure continues!

Well lets just say we rate the big island pretty high on the cool factor scale! Snorkeling, jumping from cliffs, 4x4 drives to remote beaches. Having a snow ball fight above 13000 feet, all quiet amazing. And I have clothes now!! Much excellence! Man many pictures to show (um they will come in the future, technical difficulties)... and some cool video (Ah nothin like watching tremain jump through a hole in a cliff into crashing waves into the ocean).

But today we are off in search of flowing lava. We will see what we find. Till then its now!

Oh and one last amazing record set!

Last night we were late getting back, and planned to make the meeting. We had a plan and a schedule... therefore... we set a record. We were in and out of the house in 12 minutes, that was changing, showering, etc... from beach wear to meeting clothes... thats right 5 guyz in 12 minutes. But on the down side, the meeting was cancelled, so well we dressed up just to read the bookstudy lesson in the car on the drive back

Jared Friday (Live from Hawaii)

jared.JPG

Jared is my boy… well no he’s not my boy that would mean I had children at like 6 years old. So anyways… Jareds my good friend (Back on the boy thoughts, Jareds parents claimed me as their son at the international convention. The poor confused Japaneese sister, finally said, I see he gets his height from you (pointing to brother flint) Anyway its Jared Friday So add your stories about Jared! (And yes it is still Friday where I am).

So looking at this picture (at the international convention….this picture really brings back memories. In fact the first time I met Jared I was sitting next to him at a assembly, where I decided to wake the nodding boy. But anyway, Jared’s cool for he’s always up for something unique whatever it may be. And ol Jared is always a great connection to finding out what’s going on within a 200 mile radius. I thank him for being a good friend on my move to Huntsville, and helping me meet those people in a 200 mile radius. (True we have drove to several disappointing parties in that radius, but we usually make the best of it). Remember the part we left, and ended up in this little hole in the wall auction place, where the only thing really common was the skanky locals (interesting they were, and confessed they were that we showed up!)

But anyway, Jared’s a good guy… leave your best stories bout him…

International Convention Chili!

chile 113 (Small).jpg

This week we have a guest speaker on guest speaker Tuesday. (Remeber, just email me pictures and stories, and mail videos to me... for guest speaker Tuesday). This week the Guest Speaker is Jillian Brewin, speaking about her trip to the international convention in Chili!

Here are a few highlights from the convention:

The peak attendance was on Sunday afternoon - little over 107,000, close to
1,200 were baptized.
There were 5,000 delegates - 3,000 from the states.

Each day a branch overseer would relay experiences from their country (in
English).

One experience that stood out to me was from Uruguay. A 5 year old boy
noticed that his neighbor seemed very sad since his wife died. The little
boy decided on his own to walk over and give the neighbor the tract on
"Comfort for the Depressed". The man was so impressed with the tract and the
interest of the little boy that he called to talk with the father. A bible
study was started and the man is now baptized!
Matt.21:16 "out of the mouth of babes"

Another experience came from Ecuador. In Ecuador they have a large Indian
population, many of them live in isolated areas. One man found 4 magazines
in the wall of his house. With those 4 mags he determined that it was
necessary for him to attend meetings. He eventually crossed the mountain and
went to the local Kingdom Hall. Within a short period of time 15 people
became interested in what he was learning and they would visit his house for
bible discussion. Now this man is a Brother and there is now a congregation
in that area!

The whole convention experience was incredible! The first day of the
convention we were greeted with a huge reception line. The brothers and
sisters gave us gifts and lots of hugs and kisses. Chile doesn't have many
black people or blonde sisters, so lets just say if you were one or the
other you were attacked. One black brother in our group was surrounded by
little kids who wanted to feel his head.......couldn't help but smile. On
Friday I was walking to get my boxed lunch and there were several brothers
and sisters singing kingdom songs. In the middle of all of this there was
deaf ones signing and the other brothers and sister were singing for them.On
Sunday after the convention had ended the brothers and sister kept singing
Kingdom songs for 45 min . After the 1st verse the whole stadium was unified
in singing. Tears of joy filled everyone's eyes. As we leaving brothers and
sister lined up for at least 3 miles waving , and holding up signs that read
"see you in paradise".What a wonderful privilege it is to part of a united Brotherhood where language of mouth doesn't matter just language of truth!

Now I would never have believed they actually did the wave at a convention unless I saw this video... I really would like to meet the brother (or sister) who started this and shake their hand!

Watch the wave at an international convention! (High Resolution) (3 MB)

Watch the wave at an international convention! (low resolution) (.5 MB)

Jillian, is definitly a lover of kids too! She told me about this sock puppet show thats real popular in Chili, after watching the following clip, she went up to the kids and would just say... lala... bringing laughter from them... ah international language!

Watch Lala high! (3 MB)

Watch Lala low! (.5 MB)

And Jillian also climbed a volcano! Dibbs to ya for doing that!

STEPH

steph2.jpg

Its everybodys favorite day ... Friday ... No... meet someone you dont know (or do know) friday! Yay!

Today we meet (or revisit) Stephanie ... aka Steph. (We have a habbit of shortning names inmy family Darc, Steph, Jerm)

Hmm where to start, I mean when you enter the realm of immediate family, the stories abound. Lets work with a little tension... ah yes family trips. Of course there was the family trip to California that took us to 24 National Parks in 2 weeks... 1 week in steph had enough. Some quotes from that trip "Its just another stupid Waterfall" "Its just Trees" "If you dont stop saying everything is pretty I'm gonna kill you" Ah good times good times.

Steph is usually up to ideas I'd come up with... View image... But often she would wonder what I had decided for us to do, but thinking twice was often not an option...View image...

But thats to be expected... she talked me into to some ideas too! The time she said "Lets build a ice skate rink" I reluctantly agreed. But it was obvious to me the idea would not work... pack up snow then spray water in it and let it freeze? I abandoned support (but not for long) Quickly I found a shovel to my head, for not supporting the effort... The joys of being 7. (Explains much now eh?)

Then there was the trip to Canada one winter... I'll drive in the snow ... she stated. Well after that first 720 degree turn on the interstate, that was over. (We survived, and about 5 minutes later she realized what had happened). I drove in the snow back "Oh Jeremy Jeremy"... I'll Never forget looking up and seeing everything spinning, including headlights coming toward us.

Oh makes me think of another driving incident, we were late for the meeting in North Carolina, and there was the idea of taking that blind curve on the inside... wooo I never want to see a semi truck from that angle again!

But hey its been some good times, and thanks for bein my sis, n laughin with me.... you know like we used to play basketball at 10 PM just cuz we knew we would end up delirious, laughing so hard because we were tired!

And thanks for dragging me everywhere all those years... to think I didnt even want to travel used to.... oh and thanks for that Blueberry cake you make... man that stuff rules... oh and that calazone.. you've not made those in a long time... ok sorry got distracted.

Good times good times. Good Ol Steph.

Add your stories about Stephanie! I have way to many... way way to many.... way way way .. ok you get the idea.

Run Run ... ah good times!

DSCF0122 (Small).JPG
Someone in Training

Lets say that you come out one cool crisp evening, and all at once you are jumped by some crazed psychotic kung fu nuts! What do you do? Take their car. Yes take their car! Well that’s what happened to ol Skyler Saturday night... (Even though I was riding with him)

Quickly I jetted for the car... yelling get in... All jumped in ... Skyler aside. We zoomed away... Skyler desperatly running behind... almost in his grasp. Almost!

Down the road we headed for a stop at McD's but alas here came the horrible ways of Skyler and his evil nemis friends. But safety was found behind locked doors. Until he pulls out a spare set of keys! What to do? Roll down the window and jump with all you can out! Javann left behind to be pummeled to the ground.

Rolling to the ground, after the jump I headed for the car Sky had entered in... ordering an escape! We head away... mind rushing I scourge for a plan. What to do... They would allow me to jump from the car and go off running... and pick me up later...

Executed.... on the run I was... but they were right no my back... but a short decoy and safety was mine. Now just to meet up with the other car. But they had found it! What to do? Try to make a distraction, to no avail... on the run again I was. The only escape jumping into a brier patch, off a ravine (literally, PLEASE DONT THROW ME IN THAT BRYAR PATCH) Escaped I was, to the other side of the road and brier patch I found another group helping my escape... but right behind them the evil forces of Sky.... Jumping from one car to another and speeding away Security and Safety was mine! Escape Was Mine...

Dramatization everything read may not be true

Since We're talking about Dancing today!

Lets go to the other end of the spectrum. True dance, with precise grace. Do I know about this? (Did you not see the video of Darcie and I performing after teh UTK game?) OK.... how about weddings maybe you've seen one of Darice and I's Performance there? OK whatever the case... why dont you learn about DANCE with a free subscription! Enjoy!

There is a Certain Way...

This weekend brought about the enjoyment of motion and movement to prosesional beat! Much greatness! Alot of people find it comical, my style of dance. But that is OK. Dancing is one of those great fields in which becoming an expert simply means, not minding what everone has to say! Get out there, and move, ALOT! ... People will laugh? probably... But thats OK.

As a public service, today we have created a Small Video, for your viewing pleasure, which reminds you. It doesnt matter how you dance, but how hard you dance!

And yes, that is how I like to dance! Its that Indian Blood in me. Dont knock it till ya try it!

Friday of Larry

larry (Small).jpg

You know there are always those people that aspire you to incorporate differnt things in your life. A walk into the hall find people calling me "Crocodile Jeremy", I guess for my sense of adventure. The desire to climb down a cliff, out a ledge, swim in a river in the winter, crawl in a hole in the ground, pick up a snake... etc etc. And in many ways it is Larry I owe this tendancy too!

So Larry stories, there are quiet a few. These stories are best told by Larry, but i'll take a shot at them.

When Larry was in 3rd grade, he had a habbit of asking to go the bathroom. yet once there, he would just hang out, or go roam the halls. The teacher caught on and didn't let Larry go. One day Larry really had to go. Not knowing what to do, Larry found an alcazelter pill in his pocket **enter idea** Larry popped the pill inhis mouth, which made it start to foam. With foam intimating from his mouth, he dropped out of his seat, and started rolling around on the floor. Paniced the teacher came running to the back of the room. "Whats going on?" Larry's friend replied, "I dont know, but Larry was bit by a dog on the way to school today!" Only one conclusion for the teacher, Rabbies! Well after it was a stratitend out, Larry found himself in the hall, not going to the bathroom, but being whipped by 2 teachers at the same time. Now thats good stories.

Quotes such as "Its just around the next bend". What he kept telling my dad the first time we went canoing down the river, and never really found the exit point till it was getting dark.

Or the Jack in the pulpit story (See previous creative writing). Larry and I had been hiking, and found some Jack in the Pulpit. We decided to take some back to enjoy... (The book described it as Peppery). Let me tell you that is the worst thing I've ever put in my mouth (worse than Durian!) I put it in my mouth, started moaning in extreme pain.. Larry asked "Whats wrong, what does it taste like". I replied try it. "The next few hours found both of us moaning in extreme pain". Seems it had a needle shaped crystal in the taproot. So it was like putting a bunch of needles in your mouth and chewing, for several hours. (No way to make it stop).

There are many many stories out there. But we will stop there. ADD YOUR STORIES ABOUT LARRY. ON THIS LARRY FRIDAY!

Song for a Thursday...

Creative Writing Thursday here... add your writings...
This week I went with a song, wrote it on the way to work today, not sure if its Emo, Punk, 80's or Indie... thoughts? (No its not country!) Maybe we will see the return of subverse Rhyscology!

Vain thoughts of carelessness from the caring

Vain and Shallow
Vain and Shallow

Those words don’t describe me

Who could care less?
Vain and Shallow
Vain and Shallow
Who could care less?

If that described me
I'd ask for change from high authority

Vain and shallow
Vain and shallow

If those words described me
I wouldn’t care actually

Who could careless?
Vain and shallow
Vain and shallow

Hey that wouldn’t be too bad
I wouldnt mind in any direction
I don’t really care what you say
I'll do it my own way

Vain and shallow
Who could careless?
Vain and shallow
Who could careless?

Hold on, I'm sorry
I don't know what I did
From myself I have hid
Cause I care every bit

Vain and shallow
Vain and shallow
Who could care less?
Vain and shallow
Vain and shallow
Who could care less?

I really long for the day
When it is no one will say

Who could care less?
Who could care less?
Vain and shallow
Vain and shallow

This is a Test...

Here is an interesting test to see how developed your right brain is. (so they say... whoever they are) Time yourself, and record your time under the comments section.

Can you find the man in the picture?

Under 5 seconds - your right brain is more developed than normal people. (You are abnormal... yay)

Under 1 minute - your right brain is developed normally (Boring!)

1-3 minutes - your right brain is slow in reacting (Work out that brain of yours!)

More than 3 minutes - Your right brain does not work (But you are persistent!)

Have you ever heard of Geocaching? Its great fun! Its basically treasures hid all over the world for you to find. True it may not be the most grand things you find... I've found a helicopter, a crayon, and some jewlery. But its the thrill of the catch ya know?

Anyway, we created our own Cache a few months back. I finally found the GPS coordinates to it. I put it up on the geocache site for others to enjoy (But they have to approve it first)...well they have to approve it first... But hey its the most challenging cache in Alabama I'd like to think... it requires at least an hour underground in Huntsville... and we're not talking caves... just follow the GPS coordinates and head down under... you'll find the rest of the instructions there. Ah good times good times... we even have a log in there and treasure... ARRRR MATEY!

Urban Spelunkers enjoy! (And I know there are several out there, I personally trained them!)

Just another Adventuresome...

IMG_4044 (Small).JPG

Larry my good friend from TN came down this weekend. (More on Larry this coming Friday... Larry Friday). But in our normal antic ideas moments, we had some highlights

We headed over to Unclaimed Baggage. This is the final resting place for your baggage when you lose it at the airport. They bring it into this place, a little town in Alabama, then go through the stuff, and sell it! So basically its a store full of junk. Well inquisitive on the matter, I asked an employ where the stuff they don’t sell is placed... the garbage. A few minutes later found Jared and I dumpster diving... Jared (an expert in the field) found 2 cell phones and 3 pagers in a matter of minutes!

One cell phone worked... so we called up the owner. The conversation went as follows: (Bold : Us Non Bold: Person we called)

Hello!
Hello?
Yes This is Elbert E Smith with the US Government, the Department of Missing Cellular Phones.
OK?
Have you lost a phone in the last year, we have found one with your identification code. Or possibly someone you know.
NO?
How about in the last 3 years?
No
Um... let me pull up a tracking record and see if you can tell us the proper contact information... our data pulled up your records.
Do you recognize this phone number?
Yes that is my husbands phone number.
Has he lost a phone?
Yes we lost one about 3 years ago.
Oh... OK this is a 3-year loss case then.
Um, Yes that was my husbands, but he has since replaced it... the other phone is turned off right now.
Yes we know that mam.
Well here at the bureau we are just wanting to bring a close to this case, it has been quiet extensive.
We just need some information.

OK
Where are you located?
Dallas, TX
Would you like the phone back?
NO I don’t guess.
OK We will destroy the phone and bring a close to this case number.
The Closing Department will now complete this case.

Hello?
Hello.
Yes, we only have one other thing that seems to be completed, along with this phone was found a large sum of money. Do you know anything about this?
No.?
You did not lose a large sum of money the same general time.
No I don't think so.
OK, if you find information or know who this large sum of money may be owned by please contact the Bureau here and ask for Lavende S. Traunket, the phone number is...
Let me get a piece of paper.
The number is **Bogus phone number give**
Thank you.
Thank you mam we will now destroy this cell phone, and sell the other items found with this luggage, goodbye.

Another story comes from the cave as you see in the pictre, that story coming Friday...
