Dave Friday!

thedave.jpg

Eh? Its Dave! ...meeting people new by misconstrued... ... add your stories about Dave!...

Comin to ya out of the West Coast (of Canada). Since Amber Wanted Dave Friday (Even though she doesnt know Dave... well here it is!

Dave (Despite the fact he supports Dairy Queen, is a cool guy!) (Ugh brings back memories of Durian Ice Cream... nooooooooooooo)

True when we visited Briitish Columbia, it was his american/candian hospitality (He has dual citizinship) which made our stay in Vancouver fun! (Plus I knew he was cool, since he had a Braid Album in his Car!)

No one would speak to us, but then there was Dave, next thing I know We are goin in Service with him, he's takin us to get clothes (we were out)... and then off for some street performances in Vancouver.

But when you meet Dave be prepared... Comparing his word rate to mine.... he could in general fit in 5-6 words for my one.... Man that boy can talk quick! (Guess thats why he works for Fedex).

And I've only ever been around him one day (I just know all this cuz he spoke so quick!... oh then there was that extra drive when he ran outta gas... )

So thats Dave!... add your stories about Dave, its Dave day... (and if you've been confused till this point... no this isnt the Wendy's Guy)

Creative Writing Thursday (On Time)

Add your creative Writing for this Thursday!

The Window Into Your World

Today I stopped by to say hello
But No one answered the door that I know

I looked into the window from outside
Even opening it carefully I tried

But closed and locked so I toiled
The Window -Locked- into your world

I tapped to see if you would come
But instead I watched the shade come undone

Regretfully -I turned away
Oh well I guess its not the right day

I walked toward the road to leave
But heard the door open, heard you breathe

As I returned you greeted me friendly
I returned with a smile quiet kindly

Who wants to see the Window into your head?
When I'm invited inside instead?

People of the Mud

DSCN0032 (Small).JPG

Flashback... I was showing my grandmother some pictuers this past weekend. She responded to this one, what are these people doing? Obviously putting mud on themselves.. Why? Who are they? Ah the greatness of mud! It prevents proper idintification of yourself. Oh and this is those don't listen to the frog people even more.

But yes this was my last true experience in TN before I moved to Bama. Just a little mud makes any day more interesting.

Chad Friday?

IMG_3802 (Medium) (Small).JPG

Well... as I continue this new Friday event of Meet Someone you may not know, or relate experiences you do know...

We meet Chad.

Chad is From Knoxville. I personally just met him a few months ago. But this picture of Chad inspired me to create Chad Friday. Chad is an interesting Chap. One of the first things I learned when I met him is his aspirations to be a movie producer. Travel to Canada's West Coast to go to Film School.... And then produce his film about an old guy as he relates his story. I don't know that I remember the whole plot of the Film, but I do know that Aliens are involved somehow...

So keep up the good work Chad, and keep on laughin!

Add your Chad Stories... if you have any ... and Chad feel free to defend yourself.

Creative Writing Thursday...Oops Late

Hey.... Go ahead and add your creative writing... Thursday was delayed by technical difficulties...

Focus! Focus?

There are many things to enjoy in this world
For many people it’s a priority
But is it worth all that they have toiled
Shouldn’t you listen to the highest authority.

Oh man…did I remember to unplug the Iron?

Balance is the Key to everything
To our God Honor and Praise it can bring.

Man, I’m getting hungry…
Wonder where we’ll eat lunch…

Galatians 6:8 Says You Reap What you sow

I have so many things I need to do
Oh seems like my time is so few
Oh wait what scripture was it that time
Galatians 5:9?

Anyway... all videos are now here, so official voting begins now... and will close Wednesday of next week. So vote for your favorite Misconstrued Video.

Another Day on the Farm?

IMG_1075 (Small).jpg

Yes, living on a farm is not a bad thing... there always is a little extra work to share in... But I think its good for you... getting out seeing the world you live in... this is what makes common sense certainly that... a common part of life!

When the day comes I have children... most certainly I hope for them the opportunity to learn the skills of life that only a farm can teach you. To appreciate the intricacies of nature, and the benefit of a hard days work.

Then of course you can always head to the house and work on your dads computer!

Back on the farm

This is Priya Friday

priya.jpg

Well Tuesday I posted a picture from hiking... and a complaint came in from Priya that only her arm showed up. So I have corrected this problem with Meet someone Friday. This Friday Meet Priya. Hi Priya. Why are you here today? Oh yeah... we've been through that. So priya I'll leave it up to you to tell any amusing stories about yourself.

I'll go ahead and relate one I always think of ... I had just moved to Huntsville, I had differnt ones over for dinner... something funny was said... Priya was amused for she showered her mom with what she was drinking when she started laughing.

Oh and she likes radiohead

And some quotes

"The Worst Part of going to Tennessee was listening to Radiohead"

"He must be German"

-Priya

We're Lost... What?

IMG_2254 (Small).JPG

A hike in the woods proved as always a theory I have... You can not get lost in the woods of Alabama. (Actually anywhere in Alabama). To get lost requires huge tracts of land...

And those are only found in england...

King of Swamp Castle: We live in a bloody swamp. We need all the land we can get.
Prince Herbert: But I don't like her.
King of Swamp Castle: Don't like her? What's wrong with her? She's beautiful, she's rich, she's got huge... tracts of land.

So remember... the woods are your friend... they are user friendly... and for true lostness and chancess of attack by wild animals.... visit Alaska (or england).

This just in....

Canada has finished their video and its in the mail...
should be posted by the end of the week...
after posting official voting in the 2003 Misconstrued Video Comp will begin...

"I'm afraid of Americans..."
excellent!

Fact Friday - Look out Canada Here Comes the US

Add the facts you've learned this week!

Well after years of being a Green Society... The united states have grasped the use of color in their money...

Yesterday the New 20 dollar bill was released. True there are no poems of hockey, no animals, not as many colors... but its coming... for they will have to change the bill at least every 7 years in the future.

While we're in Washington, how about some Library of Congress facts!

The smallest book in the Library of Congress is Old King Cole. It is 1/25" x 1/25", or about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. The pages can only be turned with the use of a needle.

Why Am I so Paranoid?

So to give just a taste of what the show was like... here is a video of the first few minutes of exit music for a film. There will be more video in time. But all I can still say is amazing!

Also if you never heard it a classical pianist redid alot of OK Computer, take a listen to ... Classical Radiohead

Morning Bells and Sirens

cutem.jpg

What is to be said except truly amazing.... This was the second time I had seen radiohead this year, and I must say that this show outshined the Failed day Performance in New York City. It was very cool to see Thome and know he was more than an enigmatic ant twitching on a matchbox stage. A radiohead show is nothing more than well a dance fest ... at least in our general vicinity. Twitching turning crawling, hands floating through the air... it about seeing felling and experiencing the music. The music is moving on CD, but live it doesn't just move you, it grabs hold of you and throws you into spastic Thome like convulsions... In the end leaving you refreshed.

So many wonderful songs at the show, some amazingly calm (sail to the moon) others incredible energy (national anthem). (See The Setlist) And here in the south we showed them what southern hospitality and excitement is about, as we almost tore down the amphitheater, creating a continuous echoing racquet beating on chairs and screaming, to get the group to return, and continued to show our appreciation.

We couldn't help but jump in glee screaming skipping upon leaving... sharing with others our Radiohigh!

All was good until the drive home where the Morning Bells (it was 1AM) turned to Sirens.... "Is this some kind of college competiion to see how many people you can get in a car?" My question ... does it really take 3 cops to check on someone going over the speedlimit ... (and I knew it was a speed trap too!... STUPID! .... Little towns with their little traps...)

All I can say is....

"Release me
Release me
Yeah..
Release me
Release me"

But I dont worry dear Sir... for I have listened to Radiohead and I will listen to what they tell me...

"Hey man, slow down
Slow down
Idiot, slow down
Slow down"

-OK Computer The Tourist

You'll be Selling Books at the Airport

homieless.jpg

Ah what can I say ... the wonderousness of music. Friday brought the great enjoyment of music. Of course music on the street first. Above you see my friends who can always be found on Broadway in Nashville playing their drums... (buckets)... bringing a breath of fresh air to a street filled with the disturbing sounds of honkey tonks and country star wannabees. Yes the best act in Nashville. Well except for friday.

Guster graced the city of Nashville. Its always rare (yet relieving) when a true act comes to Nashville. The played for an hour half set... with stobes guitars, a cameo by Nickel Creek... But best of all it was watching a guy play a full set of drums, bongos, cymbals... all with his hands.... he had em taped up with duct tape so as to persavere...

I had plans of bringing the camera with me so you could enjoy the show... but got the proverbial "change battery pack" warning 1 minute into the trip... DOH...

I'll try to do better tonight at Radiohead.

But for now enjoy tommy's rendention of Guster ... (Note they sound alot better than this, but have the same pasion live!).

But the entertainment level was excellent. Oh and from 9:30PM to 6AM the site had 75 hits... No where like the failed day site... but for that late at night... obviously to quote the Kinks we did "Give the People What they Want".

OK but it still fact Friday.

Quote Wednesday (12)

You do not really understand something unless you can explain it to your grandmother.

-Albert Einstein

God runs electromagnetics by wave theory on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and the Devil runs them by quantum theory on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
Sir William Bragg (1862 - 1942)

(Now thats funny stuff!)

Its quote Wednesday... so add your quotes. Also this week I realized that I don't really give everyone a true feel of hearing from me on this webpage. Through typing you lose so much namely accents. So for your help I have created a link from the dialectizer, so that you can read this like I was really there (click here for southern update).
