Video Games Where it all started...

Parsec4.png

So I don't know what led me to this topic today, other than I ran across a page on Parsec. Parsec you say? I am willing to say that most know nothing of which I speak. The fact of the matter is, Parsec was a video game on the TI-994A System. While everyone else was buying their Ataris to play video games on, my dad bought us something that we could program as well.

Well I remember being at the age of 6 typing in computer code for hours, then debugging, just to have a little game that did in reality very little. I also remember thinking, how in the world does this work, asking, having it explained and thinking " I wonder how all of this works? "

At any rate, the good news the system had video games too... Parsec was at the top of the A list. (Of course I remember later on getting Donkey Kong, that was big times... I still remember looking in the catalog, Stephanie and I picking that out and Jungle Hunt.

So what was your earlist Video Game memories?

First was the original Nintendo NES. In fact, I kept the original one my parents bought me when I was 5 up until last week when I sold it and 8 games for $40.00 in anticipation of our move. Sad to see it go.

i don't think i ever got to play with that.. i just remember riding the bus to the high school and waiting on dad to be able to leave while i was in elementary school. While i was waiting on him I'd play on his old computer. I played a bouncing baby game where you could rescue the babies from a burning building. ( all you did was move the left and right arrow to move the rescue squad) and a game with a stray cat trying to get food:) fun times.

Playing Pitfall at about 3 or 4 on the good ol' Atari in my brother's room. Those were the days...

I remember my brother had an Atari (1987?) I got in trouble for getting so upset when the little man died. Haha. I liked the game (I think it was called) Pong.

But the original Nintendo is STILL the best..then next in line on my favorite list is Mario Kart 64. Oh and some friends had the first sega..I liked Sonic but it went so fast I was horrible at it!!

When I was a kid, my parents wouldn't let us get any video games so we settled for computer games... my favorite on the computer was dig-dug and actually I had the bouncing babies one too...it seems like if you didn't catch them they always landed on their head :(....my older sister and I always wanted a Nintendo, but were unsuccessful at convincing my parents to get one...so after moving out I got one for myself :) Mario brothers is the best...still have it...
