Cool Views of Space

shutz.jpg

Well this last shuttle flight was a success. The camera system, which I have been helping design and test for the last 3 years, flew on this flight. The results were amazing, and have been all around the international press. (Its funny non US news seems more interested in the shuttle program often.

Anyways, the resulting shots of the Shuttle were amazing. We couldn't have directed a better film. The video shows the view from the solid rocket boosters from launch to separation to splash down

You can watch the videos Here on NASA.gov. Look under the STS-121 Solid Rocket Boosters Videos section.

Enjoy

So awesome. I'm so happy that it all went well for you and the rest of NASA. :) :) Ha..thankfully the foam didn't ruin the entire future of the shuttle program. :)
And the video is worth watching all of it..really cool as it goes through the earth's atmosphere..

That was a pretty cool video. So how long does it take for it travel from the point of seperation down back to earth?

so what is up with the exhaust in the composite video 00:08 into the video the bottom right camera had a bunch of exhaust on the right side of the screen, and it seems like it should not be there... Is that just garbage coming off of the shuttle? cause at 00:05 in you see a bunch of stuff coming off of the fromt of the shuttle

It takes about oh 5 minutes till the boosters hit the water.. fallin back to earth..

the junk? hmm prob aritifact of compression.. or junk fallin off is bits o ice
