A Friday of Thought... what do you think.
You know its really odd how women shave all their hair (well most all... except for bald women)... while men don't.
As a man I know shaving makes tougher skin. Last night my sister and I were talking. We were discussing shaving armpits. To me it seems a nearly impossible task, I almost see why the European women have no choice but to let em go. However, as we know American women have shown it is possible.
So my ending thought on all this. The armpits of women (in America) must be much tougher than men's armpit skin. In my mind I think of my armpits as some of the softness skin on my body... the thought of putting a razor on it just instantly brings to mind bleeding, cutting and possible loss of limb and life.
So... is it true? Are women's armpits tougher than men's?
Discuss.

I think it's pretty inevitable that they are indeed tougher than men's.
I just now lifted my arm up like strait above my head and found that it more or less makes the armpit flat and thus wouldn't be that hard to shave at all.

Yes. It's probably true that women's armpits are tougher than mens. And yes..it seems scary to those that haven't attempted it. But, we women attemptand do the daring and dangerous things to keep ourselves clean cut. I propose that a guy on here try it out. I double dog dare you! YOu'll feel cleaner! (This was an odd topic for me to randomly come in on. But, it struck me as quite humorous.)

Yes, that is a fact. The armpits of women who shave them are stronger. I once saw a woman get shot point blank with a .45 in the armpit and walk away unscathed. Then she got the mugger in the head lock and the skin of her pit was so hard it gave the mugger a concussion. True story.
I think next to diamonds, it's the hardest material on Earth.

Hmm. . .a dare from Kristen. . .I might act upon this.

I propose a double double dog dare. Javann you shave your pits and Kristen, you must let yours grow.

What about guys that do shave their pitties? (Like my hubby?)

so bookyeti...
Could you do a little research... can you compare your husbands pits to an unshaven pit?
If you are confused how to do this, in engineering it is called Impact strength.
This is the energy required to fracture a specimen subjected to shock loading, as in an impact test. Alternate terms are impact energy, impact value, impact resistance and energy absorption. It is an indication of the toughness of a material.
An impact test you say? You can determine how to administer the test and document a recorded value.

You know I dont necessarily believe shaving under our arms makes that skin tougher. We shave our legs know for sure is that it's best to use a new razor definetely not one that is a little dull, you get the best shave using a new one!

Well, I did not know how fond Jerm was of his armpit until I saw this post as well as this picture
Wouldn't the armpit be kind of rough feeling with hair, how could you tell if one was soft until you shaved it off.
women's legs are not that tough feeling, but I know that when I pull nadin's leg hair (winter time, most women slack off on shaving in the winter time, and no it is not long, just short stubble...) It hurts her a whole lot less than when she pulls my leg hair

haha. I hadn't gotten on here and seen the dare i was given. NO I am sorry. I just can't let it grow Javann and Tremaine. Too gross..And I was thinking..it is scary still to shave under your arms..you must be very careful. And..as was mentioned..a NEW razor must be used.

hmmmm...I'm not sure, but I would say that shaving your armpits is too much for a guy, yet trimming them (withing reason) is just plain ole' reasonable.
