Somewhere there is a silence waiting to be broken,
where the shallow and deep meet, and words remain unspoken.
Shadows enshroud the thoughts said out loud only to be brightened.
Emotions overflow into what men might know to be analyzed by the enlightened.
Somewhere there is happiness and joy, peace calm and serenity,
those enjoying it are never alone, always feel at home, comfortable in their amenities.
Darkness doesn't exist, and if their eyes mist, tears of joy are the reason.
But deep in another corner where no one dares journey, lays a cold season.
Ice covers the ground, the snow stacks up in mounds, never to be seen.
No light shines on this unhappy place and no heat eminates from its fires.
For there burn the unfaithful, the treacherous and the lonely.
Forevermore scoffed for their infidelity and cursed to be eternally homely.
Their eyes are dull their screams break the lull of peace and tranquility,
Each joining together to form one unique somber torturous soliloquy.
They are tortured by themselves the holes in their chests,
the knives in their hands and backs seem never to rest.
Murder fills their eyes, and the putrid stench clouds their minds.
If you were to examine it, jealousy, strife, hatred and emptiness are all you'd find.
Their faces are pale, hair unkempt, somehow they remain keenly alert.
Doomed to a life of being together, finally they reap just desserts.
