Well, we will probably be joining you this year since there is a chance we will be moved to Cookeville by then. Mom is supposed to be getting us a hotel room over there.
I don't know when ours is because Kevin never listens to annoucements (I didn't go last night because my feet are so swollen and needed to have them elevated).

Our's is July 1-3rd and it's at Nassau Colleseum.
Oh well I guess it's good for all those brothers and sisters who can't normally ask for days off, maybe they will already have it off for the holiday weekend.

We are probably the latest ever...August 12-14, Cleveland State Convocation Center. They usually split the city in half with assignments (betcha didnt know Akron was that big...) And even though I stay 1 hour away, I'm getting a room again. Why? Its just easier this way.

We got the same weekend, too, Jeremy.

Sweet! It's going to be like one big family in Huntsville this year! Wait... isn't it like one big family anyways...?
Posted by: keats | January 7, 2005 09:16 AM
Nope, my convention is later, August 26-28 in Gainesville, FL. This is brand new for us. We've been going to the same place for over 10 years, so its a nice change!!! Even if it's in the swamp land:)

July 15-17
Johnson City, TN
Big suprise!
Posted by: case | January 7, 2005 09:44 AM
Hmmmm.... nope no sorry...
technically, since i am in montgomery and the earth is upside down you are below me, unless you are at a higher elevation, then you are above me... But i certainly know that you are somewhere north of me

Hey Sethie did you get your hotel room yet? Mom wasn't sure.
Posted by: Amber | January 7, 2005 10:06 AM
Hey I just looked at the results for the quiz today. It is bad enough Josh is ahead of me, but ahead of Jerm...what's up with that?
Posted by: Amber | January 7, 2005 10:08 AM
June 24-26 in Duluth GA. No more driving to Macon!!!
Posted by: Jason | January 7, 2005 10:43 AM
Same one as always. July 1-3 in Huntsville.

Dude, that was a tough quiz I had... second place won't last long...
Posted by: keats | January 7, 2005 12:09 PM
see you there John!
...hey did you go to Heidi's house last Saturday?
Posted by: Autumn | January 7, 2005 12:23 PM
Me? No I didn't go. Thought about it for a second though. I haven't been there in quite some time.
Posted by: Jonathan | January 7, 2005 01:28 PM
Jon, we've got the same convention. Yay. I'll probably be working during said convention. Well, not working, volunteering. Hi Oh!
Posted by: What, You're Expecting My Name Here? | January 7, 2005 01:55 PM
Hey Javann, if you have the same convention as Jon than you and I have the same convention. And Jeremy also. Weird how we always end up with the same convention every year. It is probably because we are all in the same congregation.

Good observation Tre. But you forgot Danny, Ben, Skyler, Denarius, Bro. Newsome, Sister Newsome, The Pugh family, and all those other people I don't feel like typing out. Sorry other people. Well, actually i'm not. Because I dislike you. Oh that's right. . .I went there.

Also Tre, go to my site and take the personality test. I'm curious as to what you'll end up with. I think that you'll end up an eight.
Posted by: What, You're Expecting My Name Here? | January 7, 2005 02:23 PM
I didn't go either (which can be assumed by the fact that I was asking you if you went), but my sister saw you at PF Changs with Stephen on Sunday so I thought maybe you went.
Javann are you ready for your talk on sunday?
Posted by: Autumn | January 7, 2005 02:25 PM
Hahahahaha, am I ready? You make me laugh. I've not even looked over the outline yet. Not to worry, I'm going to fake a sickness the day of and then use the time that buys me to skip town.

Another question-
How many people are on average at your conventions? We seem to get about 8-9,000, but back in the days when we went to Three Rivers in Pittsburgh, we got something along the likes of 20-25,000
Posted by: Ben Williams | January 7, 2005 04:13 PM
well Mr. Williams, usually about 5,000 but I have been told by a very reliable source that we are expecting 6,000 at Huntsville this year.
oh and Javann, you better give that talk or you're going to owe me gas money
Posted by: Autumn | January 7, 2005 04:18 PM
Ummmm I'm with all those other people that july 1-3 weekend fireworks at my house, not really though. But yes i am with the Huntsville Group because i live in Huntsville and i'm rambling on about a bunch of nothing so i should quit.

Jerm, you were actually "above" me until you were 212 miles from huntsville (or judging from the ground ~207 miles away)... you see if you visualize me standing on the earth, hello, and your plane is flying around the globe at 30,000ft (5.681 miles) above the earth, using the radius of the earth R 3963.1miles and computing:
you see you form a right angle triangle where the hypp is R+30,000ft and the same side is R and the the opp side is at a right angle to the same side
((5.681+r)^2 - R^2)^.5 you get ~212.27 miles, but now we have to figure out how far away you would be
drawing another right angle triangle where the hyp is 212.27 and one side is your height above the earth, the distance through the earth would be:
(212^2 - 5.681^2)^.5 = ~212.19miles
well that is kinda silly, we did not take into account the curvature of the earth, well that is 24,859.82mi/360degrees and the angle between these points is:
acos(R/(5.681+r)) = 3.000degrees
you would have to be exactly 207.165083 miles away
so when you got a little past memphis you were actually below me ;)

July 1-3, Bismarck, ND. Can't wait to see what new lit we get this year (pleeease, a study book that condenses all the "lesser" prophets into one, would be so neat to study Jonah one month and so on)

Add the Athens congregation to the July 1-3 convention! YAY!!! :)
Posted by: Jill | January 7, 2005 09:13 PM
Jerm, Huntsville west is the same weekend... we will all be togeather!

Toledo, OH
Aug 26-28!!
Big change for us up north here. Our conventions have always been in June and for the last I can't remember how long we have been assigned to the Pontiac Silverdome with about 30,000 - 35,000 people there, and more for the International conventions in the past. Anyone know approx how many we can expect in Toledo?
Posted by: Becky from MI | January 9, 2005 12:35 AM
Well, Brent, did you take into consideration the fact that the Earth is a spheroid, not quit a perfect sphere? Since you just used one radius for the Earth, probably not. For pratical purposes, your answer would be close enough. But if you want exact you couldn't just use one radius. You would have to see what the curvature was at this point of the Earth. So you should more appropriately say your answer is approximate.

Uhmm Can someone tell me when our's is? I'm In The Westside Congregation In H'ville Alabama.
