Well the entries were made and Itz Jerm friday. Jeremy is the creator of thoughts behind misconstrued thoughts. Bringing the world together... hoping to make it a happy/inteligent/creative place. I've known Jeremy from the begining, Infact I"ve known him longer than anyone. True he irritates me to death sometimes (for example he just deleted this whole post, and I had to restart). Anyways, alot of people try to figure him out, but I just link it back to his "floating" childhood. No in actuallity those times Jeremy seems confused, or "floating" its probably his allergies kicking in... alergies are the one thing he's great at.
Anyways, Jerm and I even went to school together. He definitly was a geek. In fact, it led to multiple beat downs, and we know for sure that he couldnt defend himself. But he always said that helped build character. He's a pretty constant person, I mean he's alway had bad hair, always lacked the same abilities. But he like creativity, in any form that involves creation. In fact I scrounged this up, one of his first videos... (a news program).
Of course now he just continues his goal to bring happiness/creativity/education to the world. Many who know him might see these things, others may just reflect on him being a bit crazy er uh.. eccentric? Alright one story about Jerm..
When He was 12 we had gone to a waterpark. He headed to the changing room. Being the modest lil boy he was he decided to change in a shower stall, as he came out... he was welcomed with shreaks... seems he had not noticed which dressing room he had entered. End result an embarrasing day, the rest of the day for ol Jerm. So bad he had to grow a beard to change his idenity.. oh wait that was just while he was in africa...
Anyways, add your stories for this the one the only, the misconstrued reader (all 6 of em) voted, Jeremy Friday. Oh and as for that education part... I think you need to read more science books... get some for free.. here!
Comments
I remember this one time when Jeremy and I were cruising through NASA in his car when we got pulled over by a NASA cop and the cop was like, "Yo, you guys American?" and we were like, "Yeah!!!!" but we advertently said it with extremely thick Russian accents and so the cop was like, "Uh, are you sure?" and we were like, "You betcha, comrade!" once again though I point out that we said the said response in think Russian accents. So, the cop asked us (not quite politely) to get out of the car but before we stepped out we took a moment to put on a couple tall, furry hats a la those ones the Russians where in the winter time (even though this was last summer and it was quite hot we put the hats on anyway to reinforce to the cop that we were in fact Russians claiming to be Americans but of course we were just doing this as a joke) and I mean that did it. The cop saw the hats and pulled his gun out and called for backup. And but so Jeremy and I were like "Ha ha this dude is such a stooge, yo, look at him calling for backup like those stupid American cops always do. Why, in Russia one cop could take on all of America and we would bet twenty rubles on it, comrade!" and so but backup arrived around that time and we were arrested and put under Yellow Level Guard which is evidently somewhat high up there and but Jeremy fooled them by growing a goatee (which you can spy in one of those amazing photos) and I fooled them by wearing some stilts and so we just sorta walked out of NASA (which for some reason they kept us there instead of sending us to prison or something of that nature). And so when we escaped from NASA we decided to go celebrate and we got some pizza but it really wasn't that good and so from there we went to Dollar General where Jerm's car broke down; or not broke down so much as it just sort of stopped working for a few minutes so we made a phone call to Canada and they helped get the car working again and so we drove off into the brobdingnagian sunset until we reached the beach. From there we got on a cruise ship and so we were just hanging out and like, having a nice time by diving off the boat and then climbing back up the anchor chain when all of the sudden, you'll never guess who shows up, it's that leviathan who jumped all the way up the deck and was like, "What’s up g's, I be Golliwoggle the radioactive talking leviathan" and then obviously he saw me and was like, "Hey I know you came to my house once, you know, the one at that lake by the nuclear plant!" and I said, "Yes, yes I remember that. And you tried to kill me," and he said, "Oh! Right! I did! Ha ha! Sorry about that, friend!" and then of course Jerm was like, "What's up with the talking leviathan?" and the leviathan was like, "Dude, the name's Golliwoggle!" and he apologized and I warned him (very quietly) to be nice to Golliwoggle since he was sort of in a touchy mood most of the time or at least he was that one other time I met up with him and he tried to kill me. And but so yeah anyway it turns out that Golliwoggle not only had impeccable linguistic abilities via his radio active exposure but also had like extemporaneously enhanced hearing so he heard my comment about him being kinda touchy and man, he got plenty mad. So what happened was he pulled out a minigun and was about to unload on the boat but Jerm used his manly charms to distract him while I ran up and kicked him. However he's a pretty tall leviathan so I just ended up kicking him in like, the lower part of his shin and that just got his attention and he picked me up and threw me very, very far. I really don't know what happened on the boat after that but man I'm glad to see Jerm’s alright cause I was like seriously really worried. I landed on a lovely beach with lots of oriental people around and the tide was way out.

That Jeremy guy looks like a high school year book photo. Or like a photo from a Time magazine article or a newspaper column. Anyways, that Jeremy guy runs one interedsting website. Better than Time.com.

I forgot to add, fun home videos. I miss my old train set.

"Hey, want to go to Washington D.C. to see Radiohead?"
Those were the first words Jeremy ever spoke to me. Seriously, before he knew my name, or anything else, he asked me if I wanted to go to Washington D.C. My response? "Radio-who?"
That's right, three years ago I had no clue who Radiohead was. My idea of good music was sadly mainstream and then Jeremy moved to my congregation. We weren't sure what to make of him, till we found out he had a masters. Then we thought he was a genius. But man, were we ever wrong about that. Don't get me wrong, he really is a brilliant man, one whose brilliance humbles great intellects, but in everyday conversation, you'd never know it. And that's what makes Jeremy Jeremy, the fact that he's willing to look like a complete idiot (well at least he was, in recent times he's getting a little self conscious) in order to have fun. The stories I could tell you about Jeremy. They are long and involved. And I'll never get another chance to recount these. Here we go.
So when Jerm first moved here to Huntsville, he was renting a house off Holmes Avenue on Austin Dr. Ah the rental house, with its molded (no not moldy, designer molded) carpet. I used to stop by after classes at the nearby university UAH, and pretty soon, I found out that Jeremy was (and still is) a walking adventure. Even after Willy became a semi-permanent fixture at Jerm's house, his house was the happening place to be. I remember first seeing someone light his arm on fire, and being amazed at the fact that he DIDN'T get burned. I also learned how to do the Puff the Magic Dragon trick at that house. Booga-booga boo, (which by the way, I mastered easily) hug the potholder, Mr. McIntosh, all classic games that all started in that one rental house. I wasn't too cool of a person at 18 when I met Jeremy, which by the way means I had an extremely extremely hostile attitude towards anyone who saw fit to cross me. But after hanging around Jeremy, seeing how he handled situations that even made me upset, like the time I almost manhandled a foolish employee at CompUSA simply because of a piece of tape which was NEVER broken by a consumer, but was broken in the store, the SEAL that was supposed to remain intact, broken at the store, and then given back saying they couldn't take it back. (AAAAARRRRGGGHHHH) That was really the last time I got so angry I couldn't see straght. All that was going through were the words "Maim foolish employee, make him taste his elbow" and Jeremy remained calm enough to walk out the store. Or the time I put Jeremy in a headlock and he was calm enough to politely tell me he couldn't breathe, and then instead of elbowing me in the gut (as I later suggested he should have done) he just wriggled free, and declared that he'd never do anything to me when I was physically present and could potentially be upset about.
Jeremy's also responsible for my increasing knowledge about music, because before I met him, I didn't know that the indie in indie rock stood for independent and not industrial. Because of him I listen to Incubus, (well, I used to) Muse, Mercury Rev, Polyphonic Spree, The Flaming Lips, the Eels, Ours, Kent, Hum, Portishead, Meat Beat Manifesto, Radiohead, Stone Roses, SuperDrag, the White Stripes, the Strokes, They Might Be Giants, etc. All because of Jeremy, struggling at times, getting me to listen to bands and informing me of concerts. And I've not had a bad concert experience with Jeremy, except for that one time at the Gin Flowers concert when I got kicked upside the head by body surfers, lost my glasses
and, and had to fling people aside to find them.
Jeremy's also responsible for any music I might make (take that as a good thing or a bad thing), because before I met him, Acid was drug for all I knew. Which started me into wanting to learn more about music and how it was made, and before i knew it, I was hooked. To making music, not to acid.
And to round it off, Jeremy's made it possible for me be friends with a much larger contingent than before (once again that may be good or bad depending on whether or not you like me) and also introduced me to Jon, Steve, D.A., Alex, the Myers family, Mike (who's last name slips my mind) and a whole slew of other people who are too numerous to mention. Now thanks to Jerm, I'm making it my goal to know someone in every state too, so I'll always have people to go hang out with.
I could babble on, and on, and tell lots of stories about the last three years, and how I've trashed monitors, carried someone on my back while running a quarter mile in the mud, fell into rivers, fell on trails, set my arm on fire, burned the roof of my mouth, ate four to five year old food, learned that frozen burritos are the meals of kings, sustained injuries from towel fights, played dodgeball, football, basketball, shoveled cow patties, discovered early morning witnessing makes for interesting video concepts, been counseled several times for appearing in a video on the internet (sounds wickedly bad), gotten free magazines, been slapped upside the head numerous times, shoved, kicked, poked, heard about Liberia and their rocketry, done random yard work, mopped, vacuumed, learned what an amoeba was, seen fish swim upside down, straight into the bottom of a tank and then jump out, heard a song that made me think I was paranoid, ate Willie's table scraps, trashed a house, been afraid of arrest, been afraid of death, completely lost that fear as time went on, hit a deer, been to parties, concerts, gatherings, etc, and done all of these things, due to one person. So Jeremy, though this Friday is over, know that you are indeed one of the coolest people I know. And despite the fact that I give you a hard time every so often, its all cause you're the older brother I never wanted.

Yeah it's also noteworthy to mention that Jeremy gave me a burned disk with Acid on it like years ago and that's what got me started with recording music. Thus, no Jeremy = no Acid = no JMZ.

Well it was a good thing Jeremy decided to come to Canada, and decided to come to our Congregation, cause we got to meet a really cool guy. Although, my first impression of him was quite a crazy one. We took him and Mark downtown, only to discover that their idea of a good time was to light the logs on the beach on fire, and of course themselves. And then the famous icecream place, who else would taste durian icecream and then order a full scoop of jalepeno/cherry icecream. The cool part was how he was like "try some" and I stupidly went for it and he shoved it in my face......( thanks ;) ) Anyhow, I had a good time down there this summer too, thanks for letting us kick you out of your place jerm, we owe ya :)

Jeremy is for sure a very different kinda person. (Its the good kinda different jerm, don't worry) But ya he's a ton of fun and will pretty much do anything. Tell him to eat a bug he'll do it..he did. Yah lea got ice cream in her face, but I got a chocolate bar in my face...oh yah and in my hair. And as Lea said thanks again for letting us have your house for two weeks:D

Finally! A Jeremy Friday!
I remember that bony lad thats in those videos from long ago, in the distant land of Greenville (the Mosheim Tshirt was a great touch, Jerm...that and your dad yelling, "Go on! Do one, boy!"). We lost contact for a while, as he has brought out, but once I realized that he was living in Knoxville, we started up our friendship anew.
From recording in dryers, to coming to our shows and taking our plastic mascots (remember THAT one Jerm??? Those were in the Allison days...), he has been a fixture in my and many of my friends lives. As Javann pointed out as well, you can always meet good new folks through the fiesty Myers. Speaking of which LeJud, Alex and I are planning a cross country jaunt and will be going up to Seattle. Prepare yourselves.
It's always a pleasure to rock out with you Jerm, and I'm sure the future will hold more good times...ah yes...good times hard to deal with.
Until later,
D.A.

so jerm i've not known for too teribly long. but its always an adventure. like this new car he has...whoa, i'll take a ride in that with him any day cause that Mazda6 rocks out! most memorable experience was camping on a rock below half dome. the whole of us (Scott, Kyle, and Jerm and i) climbed it when we got to half dome 8 hrs after our 11:00 am departure or close to thereof. and we enjoyed the sunset. Then next morn jerm woke up at 6 am sharp and headed up and i followed soon there after with kyle shortly behind. scott...he was bear bait. that morn was a sickening feeling, but sliding down half-dome made the sick feeling into a gleeful kindergarden slide feeling. jerm led the whole expedition. great times great times!
most insane moments are caving with jerm. we find ourselves uncomfortably stuck between rocks and jerm yellin at me to not push him that it doesn't help but that he's closterphobic which scares me even further! but we made it..super times.
jerm has also been quite an encouragment to me. he's a ministerial servant that has given me some great goals to reach for. he's a friend that's always there for me, and i appreciate all his fine efforts. he strives to please Jehovah in all he does, especially in helping other people, and that makes me want to do the same. Jeremy puts himself out of pocket to conduct studies and reach those in unassigned territory. he's a true brother. thanks jerm

I went caving with Jerm at the first of August. He took us on a 2 mile hike to the cave and about a mile in the cave. Jerm though prob could have hiked another 10 miles. We stayed in the cave so long when got out we had to use flash lights. Going caving that day makes we want to do it more often. So call me if you want to go hiking Jerm.

jeremy is one of a kind guy. he brings excitement to life with his overflowing enthusiasm for music, art, and nature. he knows how to have fun without taking it too far...well most of the time. i remember meetin him for the first time at the assembly and everybody was so intrigued with him but i couldnt understand why. now i know. he has an awesome personality and a great love for the truth. and that is rare! what i appreciate most about him (and his entire fam) is his humility. most people miss out on that wonderful quality of his b/c they're too distracted by his "wild" ways. thats too bad b/c they don't know what they're missing!
Posted by: kat | August 22, 2004 09:24 PM
well many of the comments have come from those who have known jeremy a mere 3 or 4 years... with a few exceptions such as DA... but i have had much much more contact with Jeremy... and i must admit... what you see is not just what you get... you get much much more...
Jeremy is a great brother. he used to take me all sorts of places when i was young... we took trips together as we got older also. we have gone on a over night hike before... and one time we traveled to Ohio just the two of us... we never fight... almost never atleast. we get irritated with one another but we don't fight.
he'll always try to make you feel better too... one time when i was probably 10 or so i bought a pair of cloggy shoes, and my dad yelled at me and told me i couldn't wear them. So i started crying of course and went down to Jeremy's room... well he offered me twenty dollars since i bought them and had a lighter telling me he was gonna burn the money if i didn't take it.
when he was younger he was a little shy about asking mom and dad things and would make me do it... after the bookstudy we would always get a snack... Jeremy's favorite snack was Diritos... so he would always get me to ask mom if we could open them... "darcie... go ask mom if we can have some Dirt" that was our code word for diritos:)
He'll take care of you too... even if it causes him problems... one time when i was sick... i asked jeremy to get me some Taco bell as he came home from working at Halmet... well in the course of him getting me some Taco Bell.. he had a wreck with a school bus... But he still went and got me some Taco Bell...
though he used to say i was too clingy and spoiled and a pain ( which he does still say that some ) he used to play with me alot... we'd play hockey or wifil ball or we'd even wrestle... but my favorite thing was the food guessing game... it involved a blind fold and food. of course i was never good at it.. my food would taste decent.. but jeremy would come up with the most discusting creations and then want you to guess what it was!
now all these fun loving brother sister stories have to have an end... jeremy also has his mean brother streak... it never failed when i was little... every time mom and dad left and i was under the supervision of just jeremy and stephanie... jeremy would pretend to be dead.. i would walk to jeremy's room and he would be lying on the floor.. and would NOT open his eyes to anything i did. so i'd about call 911.. he'd get up.. i'd get mad and say i was gonna tell mom and dad... he'd beg me not to tell.. i wouldn't tell.. then the cycle would start over...
then his favorite thing to talk about in the dark is the "what if" game.. ya know... what if a lion was right behind us and leaped on me what would you do? he ALWAYS used to scare me.. still does.
then there was the time when i was real young that jeremy said i stayed in the bath tub so long that he and stephanie were married and had kids and would not leave me alone. he was probably 12 or 13 at the time too...
i could never live without jeremy... which is why i fuss at him so much about his driving and he gets mad at me.. but i couldn't... i feel there are so many facits to his personality that people do not know yet... and i think people that don't know him like his close friends do misconstrue his intentions sometimes... but he is the most sweet, caring, loving, spiritual brother i could ever ask for.. and i didn't even have to ask for him... i wouldn't trade him for the world:)
Posted by: Darcie | August 23, 2004 03:18 PM
Um, I won't even try to write such a great story as Darcie. You know...where was I when all of this was going on between you and Jerm????
Well like Darc, Jerm and I have traveled and been all over the U.S. together. Certain ones used to joke that you would never see one of us without the other. We had lots of fun one time leaving Pittsburg. I did a 360 degree turn on the interstate in ice and snow and all I did was bounce off a hill and he refused to ride with me any longer. Imagine that...Jeremy (maniac behind the wheel) refusing to ride with you.
Everyone knows Jerm as quite the creative one...trying new foods,etc...well let me tell you he is also very creative with his cooking. So if you are ever stumped give him a call and he will give you some ideas for supper. OH, Once though he made some soup or something and this guy Barney came over and ate with us....It must have been really bad because Barney left without saying bye or anything...we turned around and he was gone.
The sweetest thing Jerm ever did for me was after my idiot boyfriend from FL broke up with me by e-mail. I was at Jerm's house and he had some people over and I started balling. I was so upset and Jerm (who didn't like this guy I was dating anyway) offered to drive me all the way to FT. Lauderdale FL to talk to him. Well, I just thought that was so sweet. He has always been there for me and I want to be there for him whenever needed too.
Jerm is a great brother and friend. I'm very fortunate to have had such a smart, creative, non-boring, brother. I'm very glad he serves Jehovah the way he does. He sets a great example. I love him and miss him very much.
I would say more but supper is ready. Catfish tonight.

Okay now that shows the kind of guy Jerm is if he is willing to go all the way out there and get Taco Bell for his sick little sister when Kevin won't even run up the street to the grocery store for his pregnant wife who is craving a ham sandwich. Not the deli Virginia Baked ham that we already had, but that prepackaged cooked ham stuff that you get by the hot dogs. No I just spent all day long taking care our other daughter and very sick on top of it and he couldn't drive up the street for me. And to think Jermey actually gave Kevin a Friday. He didn't even deserve it.

So it is finally Jeremy Friday. What comes to mind when you think of Jeremy? Yep your right crazy driver. Very accident I was ever in I was with Jeremy, but to his defense the loser in front of us had no tail lights and we were on a patch of ice and another memorable crash was near Fall Creek Falls. I was following Jerm and he quickly left me behind. As I approach every turn I notice these cool drift marks that looked as if a professional ralley driver had just been through, but not to our suprise we finally saw skid marks leading off the road with small sapplings mowed over for about 200 feet and there was Jerm wedged into a large rock (I think I still have the pictures if anyone wants to see) and so far his legend still proceeds him. I guess this is somewhat of a negative aspect of Jerm so we will now dwell on a positive view of Jerm.
Consider me for example. I am a Ministerial Servent at the West Greeneville Congretation. Would I be a servent if it wasn't for Jerm? I may or MAY NOT. All of my friends I was hanging around with when I met Jerm are all disfellowshipped or have left the truth. I don't think I would have gone to that point, but I probalby wouldn't be where I am today... married with one child and another on the way and absoultly no life! But hats off to Jeremy becuase he has kept Jehovah number one in his life. Thank you for the attention and the great times we have had. Keep up the great work. When I have more time I will add a few more thoughts.
Posted by: Kevin | August 23, 2004 09:04 PM
Oh yeah, to my defense on the ham issue. It was well after midnight and the ham would go bad if it wasn't eaten and she doesn't even like that prepackaged ham anyway. She was just testing me to see if I would do it.
Posted by: Kevin | August 23, 2004 09:10 PM
Okay I am glad I got back on to read what you typed. Now you are a liar. It was only about 8:00 and I do to like that prepackaged stuff. You are the one who doesn't like it.

Radiohead was the culprit!
i guess it was about 4 years ago that i met the one and only Jeremy Myers. He and some friends were looking for a place to stay. They drove 10 hours to come see Radiohead......that's whatcha call devotion to good music. :)
i'll never forget how exciting it was to receive the picture of the moment at work. For a few minutes i could escape into one of those pics and forget that i was inside behind a dreary desk.
i'll never forget the trips. One of the fondest being Africa. Who could forget the tummy slapping music, spotsendreck (sp?), the car accident's, the list goes on and on.....
Oh yeah, the few hours in NY.....ok i'll stop here.
As mentioned in other comments Jeremy has some outstanding qualities but i think one of the most admirable ones is his determination to stay balanced in all that he does. Once he told me that "Balance is the way to happiness and success". You can talk to Jerm about anything and go anywhere and have a blast.Whether it's mental anguish, spirituality, music, traveling, or education. He's always there for you. If's there's anything he can do to help you ....he's there.

Jeremy is not a bad fella, with the exception that he took my name (he has been in Huntsville longer than me, but Im older and Ive been in Alabama longer, so it is kindofa wash). Some good examples...
Let me and Kim stay at his house (on incredibly short notice) when we we were house hunting in Huntsville.
Always willing to take a road trip to a concert (even when he has never heard of the band).
Usually is up for a journey to Burger King for lunch (that is when he actually shows up for work and is not travelling across the country).
Stole my car, turned all my furniture upside down, and left disturbing messages on my cell phone...oh wait, I forgot we were only supposed to say the good things.
Well there is lots of other good things to say...
So if you ever need a place to stay, someone to go on a journey with, or just to eat lunch, or to organize a dodgeball/softball/football/random reason to get people together to socialize event...he's your man

Its Mom. I've known Jeremy longer than anybody. Therefore,I'll give some early Jeremy stories. Jeremy would always share: When 11 months old while at Hardees he saw his reflection in the highchair tray and he tried to put french fies in its (his reflection's) mouth. Always a little on the messy side: He was constantly messing in the trash can. On day I left the dryer door open and he got the trash out of the trash can and put it in the dryer.
He loved to put puzzles together by the age of two. By four years he would get out all the puzzles he could find and put them together; the living room floor would be covered with puzzles.
An engineer in the making: At four years old his grandmother (Nana) bought him a toy (front loader set w/track). She got the instructions out and tried to put it together but she couldn't. Jeremy said, "Let me have those 'structions'". Soon he had it together, up and running. Nana laughed about that a long time afterward.
He always loved books: One day at the library he said "I wish I could just take all the books home."
He was usually very easy to get along with but occasionally showed his temper, loved books, sorta messy, loved to buy things and was pretty quiet until you got the camera out then a little show-off. Sounds like Jeremy hasn't changed much; does it?
As for my most recent Jeremy story: Last week I was working in my garden across the creek when the UPS guy drives up. He sees me and verifies that he has the correct address. He pulls out a dolly used to carry large packages. I think "What in the world has Dwight (Jeremy's Dad) ordered now!" Then the man pulls out two large boxes! Since I wasn't expecting any deliveries I thought I better check it out. It wasn't for Dwight after all; it was for ME! I looked at the return address to see who sent it. You guessed it; it was from Jerm. I was perplexed, excited, nervous - all the above. Then I opened the boxes. There were two nice Adironback chairs w/foot rests (wooden lawn furniture) for my garden. Then this week I received a matching bench glider. Thanks Jeremy, it was a really nice surprise.
Oh, did I forget to mention that when Jeremy was young he was a 'sweet' little fellow ... Well he still is.
Better go before I embarress him any more. Love, Mom

So, I'm late but I couldnt get to a computer! Anyway, Jeremy is great. He's definately one of a kind and even though I am sure I have much to learn about him, he is the sort of person that you're just happy that you know. I remember when I first heard of Jeremy, before I ever met him. He was the talk of the circuit pretty much. At home (well old home) in Sheffield, in Florence, in Decatur, everywhere-people were talking about this new guy that was soooo cool named Jeremy. And I was so frustrated because I hadnt met him yet! Even when I had come to Huntsville I think he had managed to be out of town. So one Saturday I went to Darcia's house because we were attending a Formal Party that day. While we were there Darcia was like, "Hey there's Jeremy." Wooo whooo! So I told her to take me over to him fast so I could finally meet him! Ya looked really snazzy Jerm. So I introduced myself and told him I had been dying to meet him and he just laughed and blushed (still does that too hehe. Well he totally bypassed what I said and told me "Hey your hair is pretty cool." Well then it was a while before I saw that coolness that is Jeremy again so when I did, at first he didnt remember me, then he said "Oh yeah, you're the girl with the twisty things in her hair." Thanks Jerm. But anywho, I envy Darcie, and Stephanie, because I have always wanted a big brother, and they have the coolest one I have ever met. Thanks Jeremy for making an indelible impression on all of our lives, everyone should have a Jeremy Myers in their life.
