A couple things to take note of:
Do you need to change oil in your car? Well its back, free oil (high quality synthetic) after rebate!
And yet another music festival pokes its ugly head up. (Ugly for most of it is ugly... City Stages in Birmingham 6/18-6/20).
If you buy your ticket this week, you'll save 8 bucks.
My opinion... only go Friday... You then get Fountains of Wayne, Fuel, and Live.

jerm i dont know if youve heard the newest Fountains of Wayne song on thats on the radio but it sounds like they pulled it straight out of the suck pile, and i like the band normally but this was bad, hopefully theyll play a good mix of old and new

I personally hate they sold out... The first album is amazing... the rest of them well... you can have em... I mean they even have this one hardcore county song on the new album. I dont think so.
So for those in question... simply buy the first album! Live, i dont know how they would be.

Whhat's a County Song? Is it an even suckier Country Song?
And Live used be a very good "live" band to see. I don't know how they are now, because they've gone a little soft, so you'll have to check them out...

Wow, someone beat me to the mockery. Well done, keats. AND leave us not forget that Fuel hasn't had a good song (in my opinion) since Shimmer.

Yeah, sorry for that, Javann. I figured you might let me get one in for fun. And while I can't say I agree with the fact Fuel hasn't had a "good" song since Shimmer, I do think they haven't had as good a song as Shimmer.....

Yes the thing about all these groups is all their best work was done in the mid 90's
so dont know what that means the show would be like... but I wont be there anyway... I'll be enjoying Primus at Radio City Music Hall in NYC.

I saw them last year in D.C for a $1.
it was worth it :)
They played a lot of their older stuff. Patrick Dahleimer cracked me up with his dancing!

It's pretty sad to think that some of these bands have taken a "wrong" turn in their music (if you can call it a wrong turn since it really is their expression in the first place). It would be interesting to have seen what they would be today if they had kept up the creative juices tht allowed them to make great music in the first place.

The live footage I have seen of Live has been some of the most intense stuff I've witnessed. The version of Lakini's Juice they did on SNL is one of my favorite performances of all time, and I'm not even that big of a fan.
Side note on one other favorite performance: The Beastie Boys performing Sabotage on one of MTV's slithering awards shows. I think it's because you actually get to see them play instruments and that the main riff is on distorted bass. Mmmmm....bass distortion...

I like the Beastie Boys. Acually, I like Mixmaster Mike. I've been listening to Turntablism and Beatboxing lately, and man. . .I need to get a mike and some turntables.

Javann,
I would pay money to see you spin records and would offer up my firstborn to see you do a rendition of Biz Markee's "Just A Friend (Baby, You Got What I Need)".
Seriously. Everyone envision Javann singing, "OHBABYYOU! YOUGOTWHATI NEEEEEEEEEED!!!" and just TRY not to bust out laughing.

Man, save your child, just come down to Huntsville, and ride in the car with me. I was at the traffic light last night singing that at the top of my lungs. I cracked up a car of people on either side of me.

I KNEW that was your jam!
Every time I look at the picture of you that Jerm put up on your Friday, I hear you singing that for some reason.

Ha beastie boys live... this my friends is one of the most pathetic moments of live music in my history. WHen i saw them in NYC... they had to stop 3 songs because they couldnt remember the lyrics... one time they stoped mixmaster mike saying... what are you playing? Thats not one of our songs...
hahaha
actually it was quiet hilarious.
