Elizabeth Friday jumpin the Lilly Pond

So it is Elizabeth Friday, there is a good chance many of you have not ran into Elizabeth for she is from South Africa. (But for those who do know her, don’t forget to add some stories) I must say our trip to Africa would not have been the same without Elizabeth around. I received an email from her this week, stating she was going to accomplish her dream... be a mountain guide. That’s right she is the naturalist type, and looks forward to leading people into the great unknown known as nature.
But I found this quiet Interesting? Why? Maybe one near death experience?

But we did make it back, and true I did have to lead the way home, for Elizabeth didnt know how to get home. (Yes, She was from Africa, I was from the US and I led the way home) (OK to her credit she had lived in the UK the last few years).
Anyways, speaking of driving Elizabeth gave me great advice on driving. Telling me how I didnt need to worry... what am I talking about ? Just watch the video.

OK.... so a bit poorer ... we did complete the trip... and one thing is true... Elizabeth did make the trip more interesting... and she is a nice gal.
In fact she even tried to speak our language.
So if you ever meet Elizabeth (You know on an expedition ... Lord be with you) tell her I said Hi, and enjoy her company. (J/K... J/K Elizabeth).

I had a blast with Elizabeth in South AFrica. I think she is quite funny, really. ( I just said that to myself in a South African accent) She is the only person I ever got stranded in the dark on top of a mountain with who used a camera flash repeatedly to help us find our way. I have more to say cuz we had such a fun time listening to her and her mom but I'm going to be late for my new job. Come visit us Elizabeth.

Elizabeth and i have been very good friends for many, many years. She is a total hiking NATZI!!! But i have enjoyed every single trip or thing we have done together. she is the most fun person to travel with, she is crazy, funny and such a loyal friend. She was with me on the greatest adventure of my life, when we hiked Mount Kenya and i wouldnt have wanted to do it with anyone else. i am so proud of her in that she is accomplishing her dream of being a tour guide. i wish her so much success!

I was on that hiking trip, living off combos and water. I had forgotten we had so many casualties that trip. Yet by the end of the day...err, night... I felt we had truly beaten the odds, really accomplished something. By that i mean we did esacpe near death. What can I say about Elizabeth? Well first off she has a great name :) one that I heard for weeks about from all of my family, and everytime I thought they were saying such nice things about me. But alas... But then I got to know her for myself and I am glad I did! Elizabeth is the kind of person that will drive you hours out of her way so you can spend one night with a friend you haven't seen in years. And teach you Afrikaans to pass the time and keep everyone awake. And I don't think she taught just the dirty words. She will be a fantastic mountain guide. But don't forget about the mountains over here that could be climbed. Come and see us! Miss you Liz!
Don't forget Jeremy, we actually carried 3 out that night. Lil' Anthony was carried the whole trip!

The first time i met Liz she told me about all her travels around the world. This girl has been all over......and she's no afraid to go on her own. Later that month we went spelunking in WV and we survived!
There was the night she came over to my apt and she let me rub her feet (i felt very privileged normally no one is allowed to touch her feet!) and we talked till early in the morning. Liz and her family opened up their home for us. Her mom was our mom away from home. One of the funniest memories i have was Liz trying to teach me African dancing......let's just say the butt is the main part to move. I still play that song and try to dance African in the privacy of my home. :) We miss you Liz!!! Come and see us at the Corn Maize soon!!!

I laughed right out loud at Jerm's explanation of why he was driving the speed he was going, really now what traffic officer, (no matter what country they are in) would accept, "I was driving the speed of the person in front of me?" Obviously they realized the person in front of you did not have THEIR FOOT ON YOUR GAS PEDAL. Actually Jeremy you were just making your contribution to the African economy. Yes, that is what we will say!!!!

So there was the time I decided that I would not achieve manhood until I saw the summit of Kilimanjaro. As soon as Elizabeths reply to my telegram arrived from the Dark Continent (and let me tell you, that was one tired pidgeon), I set into action preparing myself physically and mentally for the journey, as well as making provisions for travel.
Upon arriving in Tanzania, I was met by Elizabeth and the rest of my guide staff.
Yada yada yada, we climbed the mountain, lost a few toes, and I became a man.
Thanks for the memories,
Daring American

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Now that's hilarious. I just about fell out of my chair watching that. I'm going to bet that wasn't the first speeding ticket you've ever received. I think my favorite part is the "Dear God,HELP ME, I'm in trouble!" look, as the officer approaches the vehicle. Shortly after, you got pretty quiet! HeHeHe Well that's alright. It's all good. Happens to the best of us. The one and only speeding ticket I ever got was about a year ago. I was running late for work, so of course, I was determined to be there on time. This county deputy pulls me over. I humbly apologize, explaining that I'm running extremely late for work, as it is a one hour drive one way, and to make matters worse, I desperately have to pay my water bill (ya know, PEE). And I don't have time to pull off the interstate to relieve myself. The officer chuckles a little, gives me a warning and let's me go. About a month later, yeah same thing all over again, running late for work, trying to get there on time, get pull over by another county deputy. For crying out loud, it's the exact same officer. But does he remember me? Of course, that's just the way it works for me. He went to his vehicle to write me a ticket, only to find that he ran out of tickets. He informs me that I will NOT be getting a "break" today, verifies that my address is current, and the goober mails me the blasted ticket. Great! $120.00 bites the dust. OUCH! That hurt.
