Give the People What the Want

OK its not quote Wednesday but that is what the Kinks proclaimed on their 1981 Album.

So what do people want? Discounts? Yes.

OK, well i was informed last night that I am not keeping people well informed as to the discoveries of Captain Clearance. So Quickly a few things I've Stumbled upon.

1) (Record Companies in Trouble) Music Legally distributed in Russia. Russia has a different kind of take on music Downloading. For that reason, certain sites have been set up which allow you to download tons of music for mere dollars. There is a review of the top site here. But you'd better act quick for starting April 11th. No longer do they have the base rate ($15 for 1000 songs). After this its a per MB cost. Read the reviews, and comments, and draw your own conclusion. But notice this on importing. But Then read the law (it sounds differnt). And for refrence they say the best format is Codec LAME Quality Selection Standart.

2) (Phone Companies in Trouble) Voice over IP is the wave of the future. It is a phone that works like a normal phone, however instead of using phone lines it uses your cable internet connection. For $15 a month (notice $15 seems to be the magic cost) you get 500 long distance minutes. I've had it for a week now, and it seems to be much better than my cell phone and near quality to a normal land line. Check out Vonage. The only caveat I've found is they only have phone numbers for large cities. So your area code may be from a different area. (If you plan to sign up let me know, I can send you a discount since I am a member). But my review "so far so good".

3) (Mass Storage In Trouble)If you need a 4GB Microdrive (For a Digital Camera Etc) If you can find a Creative Nomad MuVo2, it has a removable drive inside. This allows you to obtain the drive for 185 dollars instead of 500. I completed this expermint last night, and now am the owner of tons of storage space. (Now my 400 GB of Harddrive space will never be enough.
That concludes the latest on what you need to know to save yourself a little $.

jerm, youve beeen watching to much techtv again...

GET OUT OF MY HEAD!

Tech TV?

TV?

hhahahah yeah right I dont waste my time discovering this on TV. Its all by accident and or reading... (And it all works)... So this thing called Tech TV... maybe I should counter them with my own Jermtech TV (hmmm instnt there a better medium than TV?

Which makes me think ... Amanda... when are we starting these 30 second mini series?

Yeah, we're using it. TV is for the inactive and unintelligent. It tells you what you should know and then informs you on what you should do based upon that knowledge. Don't let that happen to you! Join the future! The internet! With a realm of interactivity that motivates one to get up and go do something.

yeah i saw the muvo 4gb article on techtv.COM using the internet.

not to mention i saw it like a week ago, come on your talking to a tech junkie.

actually thats a little late to get the info. I first heard it in January... and the thing has been on back order until Yesterday for me. They are hard to come by ... and why not...

And by the way... by the time its on tech tv or major internet sites... you're obviously to late. YOu missed the boat.

YOu know major internet sites like this one j/k

(but do notice everything here is ... hurry act quick...) hahahaha

yeah thanks again mass media...

Yeah, this is all fine and dandy, but you still haven't told me how I can get a hold of PhotoShop for next to nothing (or nothing). The new CS Creative Suite is $1300 and the base Full Version CS is $700. I sold a lung and a kidney and still can't afford the thing (freaking black market is getting stingy). You want a challenge? I challenge you to find it dirt cheap (although I will go for 7 or 6 if need be, or whatever for that matter).

keats, i might know where you can get a copy of PhotoShop if you really want one, it would of course be for educational use only and you would need to delete the files when you were done....

let me know.

just dont tell the RIAA, or go read the DMARC, or any other anti piracy act, yada yada yada...

Well of course, everything is for educational purposes. I downloaded the trial but I didn't learn enough yet. Yeah, I would be interested, and I'd appreciate it. I don't appreciate the anti-piracy watchdogs anyhow, so don't worry - I won't say anything.

I had Photoshop for "educational uses", but then my computer broke down last week, and I lost Photoshop and all my "educational" mp3s. Arg, those darn iMacs, they need floppy disk drives!!! How dare Apple take off the floppy disk drives!!! *shakes fist in a menacing old grandma type of way* If I had a Floppy Disk drive then I could have saved at least some of my files!

education is for dummies
