Captain Jon Friday

jon (Small).jpg

Its Jon Friday.. or is it Eli Friday... Its all the same.

Some people inspire me to create/invent/think abstractly. It is that fellow drive to create/invent/think abstractly (and the appreciation for fellow abstract views) that when combined can create a dynamic duo. A ever present power to think of and do what has not been done before. When I think of those who do that there are many. But my friends who will dress up like a superhero and be fine running around the neighborhood…. Those are the ones that fit the Bill. Are we talking Bill?...No But Bills son Jon.

Jon is one creative/hilarious person! Don’t let his mild mannered quiet, somewhat monotone demeanor confuse you. In fact he uses it highly in his favor to create a rich world of humorous strangely true insight.

Jon and I go back about 5 years. And in those years much has been enjoyed… I mean with whom else have I
-Create a music festival that drew international attention (and also raise money for Cerebral Palsy

-Decide to create a geocache 2 hours back in a storm drain (people have actually gone and looked for this too!)

-Have a flour fight

-Create revenge on friends who brought destruction to my home (and do it in a most ingenious way) (and with an evil laugh....)

-Create a return for Operation Nap and execute it flawlessly

-Edit video for hours on end just to state they are bored and from 8PM to 11PM go eat at 24 different restraints. (That’s right in one night)

(Those stories you haven’t heard above b4… well I’m sure they’ll find there way here sooner or later)

And on top of all these things have a growing list of other things to do… (We still haven’t drove that car into the ocean…) But yes that drive to invent/create/ to boldly go where no man has gone before. Jon He’s cool…

OH, and he’s a good musician too. In fact its kind of cool… I get referred to in his musical History. (I am Kaizen btw…) So check out some of Jons music… give it a review… and vote him as one cool artist… and one cool person!

Add your stories about Jon today… or tomorrow.. or next week… and if you can figure out how to do it last week… that’ll work too.

I love this kid. Ever since I met him (through Jerm of course), I have been a fan of The Jon.

You don't usually know what to expect out of him, what with the dry, keen wit and Daria-esque observances of life. Some friends of mine were talking about having met this guy named Jon, and after talking to them a little more I realized that it was indeed Captain Jon that they were talking about. That ellicited another of the forementioned, "I love that kid!" responses from me, which seems to be common with Jonathan, and they wholeheartedly agreed.

Spending the convention weekend in Huntsville with he and Jeremy and a few other boys (I didn't know that Nasa could arrest it's own employee's...but that's another story) was a great time, and helping to mastermind the "Create Revenge on the Home Wreckers" campaign together was a great momemnt. Recording the soundtrack was even better :)

So until we meet again, Captain Jonathan!

May the Juice Mouse be strong with you!

Oh, and I am really happy that Jeremy posted such a good picture for Captain Jon Friday, because today's picture at The Knoxville File's Matt Friday is CLASSIC. Two great pics for two great people. Seek them both out.

Matt Friday

Jonathan and Matt need to meet. It would be a quiet, fearful thing.

Like giving koalas cocaine and kitchen knives.

D.A.

P.S.: Jeremy, please make me feel better by coming and plugging Miscontrued on TKF. Cross pollination...like (insert animal simile here) springtime

I remember when I first met Jon. It was at an Incubus concert. Big Spring Jam to be exact. It was cold. And I thought his name was Eli, since that's what he told me. Anyway, the entire night, he and Steve, (who I thought was Esau) commented on the general size of my sweater. Before long, they were wanting to wear the sweater with me, and somehow the sweater got stretched even larger, and the incredibly long joke on myself continued through out the night. I hated Jon and Steve, and by the end of the night, I wanted to see Jon die a slow horrible death. Not much has changed since then. . .

And that's the kind of humor I expect to hear from Jon. That's what makes him such a cool guy, who's definitely worth having his own Friday. Jon you rock. And you are an awesome musician. So much so that I've actually purchased an album by you, which I still listen to. And he's literate. And apparently he's an underwear model. Jon is the coolest guy I know, West of New York. Except for Reggie. Jon is the second coolest guy I know, west of New York. Actually D.A.'s kinda cool. . .Jon is the third coolest guy I know, west of New York. Then there's Jeremy, he's pretty cool. Jon is the fourth coolest guy I know, west of New York. Oh yeah, then there's that kid I met at the hospital, he was cool. . .Jon is the fifth coolest guy, west of New York. Oh yeah, and Nathan from Greeneville, he was cool. . .Jon is the sixth coolest guy west of New York. And then there's. . .well Jon's cool. Really. really. cool.

Hey... that sounds likea song Jon and I wrote.. well really we just sang it...

Long Island is the coolest Island/East of New York.... uhhhhh yeah...

(Not ReallY)

Video coming soon of that (The Failed Day Documentary)

Oh and I forgot to mention that time Jon and I just wandered into a strangers yard and listened to a band play music and we drank there drinks and ate there food and got rained on...

good random times

jon always brings to my mind what all the girls say..."OHHHHH! Did you see his eyes!!???!!!?"
yep...jon, you've got the women eyeing you!

but after that thought...i come to the memory of the radiohead concert when jon was a real Thom Dancer. he let it all out when Myxamitosis came across the air! and let me tell you...he's one crazy dancer...

Aww, you gotta love Jon. Always interesting and fun! I still haven't been around him a ton, but I think he's pretty kool so far. I think the first time I actually met him was at our quick-build for our new hall, Melissa Shade introduced us. Of course, who could forget Jon and Jared's performance behind the stage at Sleepy T's party in Lebanon last year. That was rockin, I wish more people had seen that, lol.
