Morning Bells and Sirens

What is to be said except truly amazing.... This was the second time I had seen radiohead this year, and I must say that this show outshined the Failed day Performance in New York City. It was very cool to see Thome and know he was more than an enigmatic ant twitching on a matchbox stage. A radiohead show is nothing more than well a dance fest ... at least in our general vicinity. Twitching turning crawling, hands floating through the air... it about seeing felling and experiencing the music. The music is moving on CD, but live it doesn't just move you, it grabs hold of you and throws you into spastic Thome like convulsions... In the end leaving you refreshed.
So many wonderful songs at the show, some amazingly calm (sail to the moon) others incredible energy (national anthem). (See The Setlist) And here in the south we showed them what southern hospitality and excitement is about, as we almost tore down the amphitheater, creating a continuous echoing racquet beating on chairs and screaming, to get the group to return, and continued to show our appreciation.
We couldn't help but jump in glee screaming skipping upon leaving... sharing with others our Radiohigh!
All was good until the drive home where the Morning Bells (it was 1AM) turned to Sirens.... "Is this some kind of college competiion to see how many people you can get in a car?" My question ... does it really take 3 cops to check on someone going over the speedlimit ... (and I knew it was a speed trap too!... STUPID! .... Little towns with their little traps...)
All I can say is....
"Release me
Release me
Yeah..
Release me
Release me"
But I dont worry dear Sir... for I have listened to Radiohead and I will listen to what they tell me...
"Hey man, slow down
Slow down
Idiot, slow down
Slow down"
-OK Computer The Tourist

i saw radiohead for the first time last wednesday, 10/1, in houston. here's my review:
wow...what an awesome concert! our seats could've been better though...they were in the back and the crowd in the uncovered reserve was kinda lame...but that didn't stop me from having a great time. at least i wasn't on the lawn.
the best songs were paranoid andriod, idioteque, just, and my personal fave, fake plastic trees. i still can't believe they played it...i totally got lost in the music...it was great. other highlights were no surprises, karma police (in the second encore), and you and whose army. during army, thom had a "piano cam" right next to his microphone that was shown on the screens on the sides of the stage. you could practically see up his nose, but it was cool...he was making faces in it and stuff. since this was my first radiohead show, i had only heard of thom's stage antics...but it was a completely different story to see it in person. the guy is absolutely nuts...but to me that's part of what made the show so amazing. sometimes he would really be working the crowd, but most of the time it was like he was in his own little world and we just happened to get a glimpse of it. definitely left you wanting more.
with all the heads in front of me (most of which were on bodies that were taller than me), it was hard to see the rest of the band, but watching jonny with all his "stuff" was pretty cool. and, of course, they played a lot from their new album. they opened with 2+2=5 followed by sit down stand up. the gloaming was heart pounding, and go to sleep and where i end and you begin were so much better than on the cd (even though the cd versions are good too). the light show was incredible...and all that the little camera on my phone could capture. they wouldn't let you bring in cameras and there was no way i could smuggle one...so i had to settle for the camera phone. (sigh) the show ended with everything in its right place...and the word "forever" scrolled across the background for the closing minutes of the song as they walked off stage one by one. the perfect ending to the best concert i've ever been to.
i really wanted to hear street spirit and how to disappear completely, but it was not to be. oh well...maybe next time. if radiohead tours again...i'm there. :)
you can see setlists & reviews from the houston and atlanta shows, and the other stops on their current tour at www.ateaseweb.com. it's also a great site for news & all things radiohead.
hope everyone's having a glorious day!

Yep southern hospitality makes everyone atease. Ah Karma Police... just the fun of yelling Karma Police at every cop you pass leaving...
You know the Karma Police that stopped us I should have
spoke in maths.. it was making me feel ill...
I mean think about it... if we look at the amount of time on the road yesterday 8 hours, the fluctuation of speed limit and found an interpolated average of excessive speed people excell at... then use this number to create a gausian distribution of proababilic values that the average person is speeding, I obviously didnt need a ticket!
Yes I didnt listen to radiohead enough or did I ... and the Karma Police Knew... they knew I was to excited and Knew what I would get when I messed with Us(Pittsburg Karma Police)
sorry for a moment there I lost myself
