Its all up your nose...

smelly.jpg

Smells are an interesting thing. They can bring back memories, put you in a good mood, a bad mood, give you a sinus headache! Anyways, cologne is an interesting concept in itself. I've always thought well men need manly smells... ya don't want to be smelling all feminine do you (well some of you "modern" men may want to)... but really shouldn't a smell prove your consistent manliness?

With that in mind I've thought of various smells that should in reality be colognes...

57 Chevy Engine Cologne for men - This cologne will really get the ladies engines running. A mixture of motor oil and engine starting fluid (which you are probably having to spray down the carburetor to get the car agoin often)... will remind everyone that you are a classic motor man.

Sea Salt Spray Cologne for men - With a touch of the ocean in its rawest form, your lady will know you've been hard at work at the docks, but you have returned for she is the true catch. Not potent but not perfectly pleasant, this unique blend will confuse and invigorate the ladies letting them know you are a hard working man.

6PM on a Summer Day for men - A unique blend of sweaty earthy tones and smells. The expected abrasiveness of afternoon sweat has been tapered down to hold its attractive manly value. Your lady can enjoy the unique smell of her hard working man, while he is in clean, showered, ready for an evening on the town.

The Real Cowboy for men - A combination of the smells of a rustler on the range. Passing smells of leather, cowboy boots, and sweat on his brow. He's came in on his steed; and its all encompassed in this one unique sent. No woman can resist a cowboy.

So there you have it: What other smells can you think we need to add here? Real scents for men, look for it soon in a store near you.

(Oh and for you "Modern Cowboys" I'm guessing this would be nothing like that described in the last scent. Get yourself a free sample)

That sea salt spray sounds great! I would be a big fan of that. I'll have to say that if a man smells good he's sold.

You know, that picture was enough to entice me to read your post...I really wanted to know why those women were sniffing a usually unsavory sniffing area.

Real Cowboy ...NICE!

Notice how a hard-working man is something VERY attractive to a women? Most of your scents here include the product of hard work...sweat. In fact I read somewhere that male-sweat was one of the most attractive smells to women...I think they call it androsterone(fresh male sweat)...

Well I don't enjoy the sweaty smell or androsterone, but I do agree with Judi, nothing better than a man who smells good. One of my favs...Happy for Men by Clinique. Awesome scent!!!

how about the sun block lotion smell i've been putting much on since the cancer issue...ahh wonderful memories with family and friends (the beach smell - didn't Kramer invent that fragrence on Seinfeld?)still not for men huh? i do agree with ya'll being industrious is an excellent quality
i still dont get why some folks like the smell of gasoline

Posted by: ruth at June 13, 2005 10:42 AM

OH the smell of gasoline... how could i forget?

Yes that is an awesome smell.

some times when filling up the car i'll just rub a lil on my arms... ya know...

;0) j/k (but i do love the smell of gasoline and diesel exhaust...

Hmmm

Gasoline Combustion for men: A unique fragrance of the broke down petroleum chain from begining to end. A robust aroma that will make your presence known, the women will definitly turn there head when you walk in the room.

And wet cement... its the lye u probably smell... but wet cement... another good idea.

how 'bout the smell of baby...they never have bad body odor (post-diaper change)

Posted by: Nina at June 13, 2005 02:51 PM

it's not too shocking that this topic is focused on "man-smell" because it's something we constantly have to work on. girls always smell good. I mean some girls smell too good. Like a girl walks by you on the sidewalk, and ten steps later you can still smell her. When a guy walks by and that happens.... one word - metro.

I 've never taken a survey, i don't think i smell bad, but i just don't like wearing cologne. people have bought it for me in the past, and i don't wear it. i think it's because everytime i can "smell" a guy, i'm just annoyed.

Alex, I've been outted. I get compliments on the way I smell from time to time. I have about three bottles of body wash, body spray, and two or three different colognes in my bathroom. Not to mention matching anitperspirant deodorants for each body wash/body spray. Yeah. Am I metro? Um. . .no. I just really don't like being funky. Well, I'm funky in a "I've-got-soul" kind of way. But not funky like I smell bad. Men take notes: hard work, good. Smelling like you've worked hard, not so good. So spray up.

Its official Javann is metro...

Posted by: itzjerm at June 13, 2005 10:17 PM

what does metro mean????

Posted by: who and where at June 14, 2005 03:48 AM

(met.roh.SEK.shoo.ul) n. An urban male with a strong aesthetic sense who spends a great deal of time and money on his appearance and lifestyle.

I guess I'm sheltered :)

I meant to click on comments but clicked free sample instead. THE ugliest picture of Matthew Mcaughnhay popped up. For the record boys; modeling yourself after Matt, a plus. Wearing Stetson, not a plus. Just let the "boots, leather, sweat and steed" work it.
