The Schedel Folks

themus.jpg

Well here I am a week into a Canadian Experience. (Yes that is my left shoulder still in pain). Anyways. Its everyones favorite time of the week. Or not... Its a return to somone Friday. And today we feature John and Paulette Schedel. I must say some very hospitable folks. (In fact its almost like the south... only slightly NorthWestern).

John is one of the greatest characters I've ever met. He loves stories. Not just any stories... the same stories (j/k). But he has one of the greatest skills, a dry non changing voice which can go from serious to comical with no influx in voice at all. Example: last night.

Jeremy: Did you see that guy spin out in the road yesterday?
John: Yes, crazy people. What are they thinking. I would never do that.
Jeremy: I think they maybe did it on purpose.
John: But on this road?
John: I would only do that with my bus full of people, old ladies screaming, I'd whip it into the Safeway (Grocery Store) parking lot start spinning around slidding sideways.
John: (Mild laugh)

Very funny stuff (BTW, he is a public bus driver). Anyways, he loves his music too. (AND JD). A good guy indeed.

Paullette is a very caring person (and really hard working)... maybe a shock in contrast at first; but a generally caring person. (A mom's mom?) Anyways... noone else has ever given me a backrub... so hey thats high on the way cool scale. But a good caring person who has helped make the trip a like home experience. She even deemed me "Nicer than I thought you would be" So hey, I guess its all good.

But yes a very contrasting couple that work well together... and whose meeting you shall never forget. Add your stories.

Yes! John and Paulley Schedel Friday!

Awesome folks. I think my one Canadian regret is that I didn't get to play music with John, though we talked about it a good deal. You also should not leave out John Jr. He's a great cat too.

Nice pic. as well, Jerm. I noticed it when we were up there. It was one of my favs that the fam showed us from his band days.

I like the story of how they met. I believe it was something about her studying to be a nun and he being the persistant rocker boy, leading her astray :)

At breakfast one morning, about 10 of us were sitting around the table and amidst all of the hub-bub and conversation I hear John trying to get his granddaughters attention next to him. He goes (in that quiet, smokey guitar guy way of his) "Hey...hey kiddo...hey...how's that g chord coming?"

It was just a cute moment.

Then there was the story about how John Jr. got a super stinky bag-woman on his bus one day and waited until he got to the one stop on his route where he and his dad's paths. It was there that he finally kicked her out and told her to go on the other bus to get where she was going. That bus was, of course, Big John's.

Ahhhh, family love!

Take care, you crazy Canadians! We Tennesseans miss you guys!

Yay, its my mom and dad friday! I love my parents..ya thats an obvious statement eh, who doesn't love they're parents, but really though, some people think its weird when I say that my parents are good friends of mine, but seriously if there is nothing to do with friends on a friday or sat night, im just as happy to stay and do something with my parents cause they are that much fun. Yah and my dad is fun to laugh at as well.

This trivia is getting on my nerves. They had one answer wrong. They asked how many Jesus feed with the fish and loaves. The choices were 50, 100, 5000, and 8000. They said the answer was 5000. But the scriptures say that that number is approximate and also that number was just the men he feed (doesn't include the women and children). Then I tried to report a correction and it won't let me. And why did the questions start getting harder? And what's with the Candan questions? And I'm not liking it anymore.

Stories about the Schedel parents? I've not met them, and I'm a bit scared too. You see, I'm the one who sort of kind of endangered their daughters lives. First, its a long story, but suffice it to say, that I'm sorry. Really sorry. So if you ever meet me, Schedel parents, know that I am a remorseful young man, who would never do that again. . .never. That having been said, they are very cool people to not have put a contract out on my laugh.

hahah...

so yeah the trivia is hard eh? OK... we could bump it back down to easier questions... but hey whats the challenge of that? The candian was challenging... but the other stuff... you should know that eh? don't tempt me to just put up radiohead trivia...

Ha! I hadn't seen that pic. of the two of them.

I say leave the questions where they are. This way all the stupid people can learn stuff.

We don't want to learn stuff, we want to feel like we're already smart. I'm AMERICAN!

Ah, my second (or third) set of parents. I gotta say, they had a big part of my teenage years and I thank them for it. Paulie will forever be known to me as that person that almost convinced a sister at an assembly that i was her black son who she left in the oven too long. And John, i still cant keep up with his guitar licks. Plus the conversations we get into always get so in depth. A true friend. Always smilin no matter what trouble we get their twins into and i guess that can't be bad at all.

yup I'll agree with jude...mom and dad are definatly friends of mine....and it seems friends of my friends as well. Sometimes i wonder who people are actually coming over to see haha. Anyways, I love you guys :)

Yup John & I still look the same..... I think I should keep my pictures under lock and key.Yes D.A. he definitely was the wild musician and I was the nun not a combination for a 38 year successful marriage but when you apply Jehovah's marvellous council wonderful things happen. One of the special things about my life is hearing the sweet music that flows from John's music room. I do feel Lea and Judes that you are our friends too and I always thought your friends came over to see us ....They don't???... Yes Thomas the look on the sister's face when you called me mom.....she maybe thought my husband was black... then along came John and her look of utter confusion is what prompted my over baked comment.thanks Jeremy for introducing us to your friends and now that y'all know who we are ...well in the words of the announcer of the Price is Right......"come on up!!!"
