So Yep, I'm hitting the road... Well lets not use that term, for I'm going on a mountain bike trip to North Dakota, and the words bike, hit, and road I dont really appreciate going together. Anyways, I am headed up to ride the Maah Daah Hey Trail. Connecting the northern and southern portions of Theodore Roosevelt National Park, the Badlands Maah Daah Hey Trail has gained reputation as the longest continuous singletrack trail in America. At about 120 miles, it should be a real test of our skills, (I'll be riding with some friends from North Dakota over a few days).
But the bad news... I'm going to miss the Hurricane (well ... whatever it would be when it gets to Huntsville...) With winds of 40 MPH expected... thats good fun to be missed out on.
So while I'm away, dont worry you'll be updated via the newest aspect of Misconstruedthoughts. The Mobile tracker...
Check out this page, and you can watch me as I go... via my cell phones camera. Keep the look out, cya... hopefully.
And get excited, for on my return... Misconstruedthoughts will enter a new level of interactivity.... Misconstrued 2.0? No... Just Misconstrued 1.67. Version 1.5 running now.
Oh and I must say Mom and Dad Friday has now been updated, with new pictures. So check it out.
MMMMM, Clif Bars, The food of champions. How are you getting your bike up there?
Posted by: Jason at September 15, 2004 11:08 AMWell based on most reasonable price plan... I'll be renting my bike... they say its a Kona, I'll miss my trek ... but well. I'll show her the pictures when I get back.

Posted by: Gavin R at September 15, 2004 05:20 PMCanada won the World Cup? Yikes...doesn't the scripture read something like, "...and you will know of the time of the end when you hear of hurricanes, reports of hurricanes, and Canadians winning at professional soccer"?
Also Jud, Alex and I's road trip is looking like it is going to fall at the beginning to middle of November. Anything interesting going on then?
"I am the shadows...whoa whoa"
Posted by: D.A. at September 15, 2004 05:53 PM....it's the world cup of HOCKEY....haha canadians don't do soccer. Anyways good stuff about November, we'll have to plan something to go on around then.
Posted by: lea at September 15, 2004 06:47 PMhaha...D.A. thought canadians won the world cup oh soccer.haha haha..okay 'nough of that. yes nov is a good time to come, if you don't snowboard well your learning:)
Posted by: judi at September 15, 2004 08:30 PMHope everyone is okay with the hurricane - we are all watching it over here.
Posted by: Esther at September 16, 2004 06:32 AMI just sold my snowboard last season! Ack! I can borrow it back from my cousin though, and my Airwalk Carrot boots still sit proudly in my room...
As for soccer...hmmmm...more than one world cup? I like to viddy a good match of anything with a group of my grovy drooges, but what other world cups are there? Can we make up some if we don't like the existing ones? How about a World Cup o' Noodles?
Posted by: D.A. at September 16, 2004 09:22 AMHA! World Cup o' Noodles. Nice one D.A. How about the World Cup of Coffee? That was funny. I am funny. Coffee! How clever is that?
Posted by: Javann at September 16, 2004 03:14 PMI miss Javann.
Posted by: D.A. at September 16, 2004 06:52 PMSo...uhm...what's everybodies favorite color?
I should probably figure out something to post to The Knoxville File, but work calls.
If you were going to be a member of a famous superhero team, who would you be? And Javann can't say the Hulk. He has to pick someone else.
I wonder if Jeremy has crashed his little bicycle.

Posted by: D.A. at September 20, 2004 01:25 PMa road trip? snowboarding? where do i sign up at?
Posted by: case at September 20, 2004 03:20 PMColor - I would have to say blue or green.
Super hero - I always liked Spidey but he isn't on a team so I would have to say either Wolverine or Johnny Storm. Oh, and if Batman counts as a super hero (he really isn't a super hero since he has no super powers. Unless you count his super detective mind but that's no super power or Sherlock Holmes would be a super hero too. Plus the Justice League is the wackest of all super hero teams. It shouldn't even count. But still Batman is the man.) Man, I never realized how nerdy I am.
Yes, Jerm has probably crashed his bike a number of times.
i enjoy multiple shades of green....
and i would have to pick marvel comics Vision... becuz he is a complex android..who just wanted to do good and to be loved and accepted. He controlled his own destiny..overcame his past......and also, he can shoot radiation beams from his forehead!!!!!.....and that is neat!
so there u go ;op
Posted by: Jen =) at September 20, 2004 06:28 PMFavorite color: Black
Would 'The Avengers' count as a super-hero team?
Posted by: Emily at September 20, 2004 07:06 PMYes Emily, I think they would. Hmmm...Emily Peel has a nice ring to it.
If anyone has ever read Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere (also a BBC series), I always thought of myself as a little bit of the Marquis de Carrabbas.
Posted by: D.A. at September 20, 2004 09:31 PMFavorite color? Orange.
I can't say the Hulk eh? Well Tre took my next two favorite, Batman and Spiderman, so I guess I'll go with El Kabong. That's right, El Kabong, aka Quick Draw McGraw. Nothing gives me a more viscereal pleasure than "kabonging" a guitar over some poor hapless fools head as a method of righting wrongs and brining my own twisted sense of justice to the world. And! It would mean I'd need no super power beyond having a rope attached to something really high, and a endless supply of guitars.
