Back in the day nothing matched pacman. (Actually I always prefered Qbert... I can still rememember seeing that game for the first time in a laundry mat when we were on a family camping trip. And I actually got a quarter to play, it lasted about 32 seconds).
Anyways... Todays games in there 3D complexity confuse me. I enjoyed the old 2-D games where the objective was obvious and you could have fun the first time you played. There was no learning curve.
So today we have pacman. Simply Click play below. Record your high score! (And only take one try to make it fair).
Special Instructions : Use mouse to click 'Start' , Use your arrow keys to move Up/Down Left an Right. Press "M" to Mute/Unmute sound, and "P" to Pause/Unpause the game.
My Score 10780
Yeah I still stink at all games oh well (except marvel vs capcom "photon canon").

Posted by: case at March 17, 2004 07:57 AMgalaga was the bomb!
nothing compares to that coctail table version of galaga that I grew up on... ah the memories
Galaga bows to me. I preferred the stand up version though. My friend Ian and I got ahold of an old NES system that someone gave us and they had Galaga with it. We would have near all-nighters playing that thing with some NIN as the soundtrack.
High scores are of no consequence because, well, you see...I rolled the score. That's right baby. 999999 rolls over to 000000. Ships across the board. They had to pull me away.
Viscious.
Bragging time over.
Sorry...Galaga gets me riled up.

Posted by: D.A. at March 17, 2004 09:09 AMAh video games. This has been an incredibly intricate part of my life. That's the sad part of this post. The good part is I'm at school and I can't play video games on this computer. That seems to be the relegated order of things. I used to play video games all the time, truth be told. Now its just an every other day thing. . .actually, it depends, because now I have friends that do more than just play video games, friends like Jeremy and ReG, who inspire me to be more analog in my life and less digital. A pox on you and your infinite score DA, a POX!! Galaga wasn't made for such misuse. Why don't you just lose like everyone else. Just like DA to be a complete and total winner. Who plays bass. Intelligent winner.
Posted by: Jon's A Poser at March 17, 2004 09:19 AMI'm sorry Jav...does it make you feel any better that the only other game that I am really good at is Tekken? I get blown away at everything else.
Plus, I'm gonna die at Armaggedon any way.

Posted by: Captian Jonathan!!! at March 17, 2004 10:35 AMActually, I love Tekken. I spent the better part of my quarters on it. That totally redeems you.
Posted by: Lieutenant Javann at March 17, 2004 11:47 AMSad, I didn't even make the top 100. My score was 12,020. I used to be awesome at that game. Not so awesome anymore.

Posted by: Daphy at March 17, 2004 05:32 PMOK, sorry to point out the obvious, but the best game ever is FF7. Yeah, that's right, FF7.
Get over it.
OK i tried 1 more time b4 bed better this time I ended up with 22550
still no top score ... those lil things get evil after you eat em alot.
Posted by: itzjerm at March 17, 2004 10:23 PMAfter playing that game for five minutes and dying repeatedly, the unescapable truth rears it's ugly head again, like a ghastly demon that haunts my dreams. I hate life.
Best game ever? Super Metroid on SNES. Man I could play that game for days. And have. And will.
Posted by: Jon Houser at March 18, 2004 10:15 AMMy score was 8140! Im not even good at 2-d games. I could never play pac man because those little octopus looking things always eat me.
Posted by: Princess Shanae at March 18, 2004 12:18 PMthats good the "octupus" ghost kill you ... i'm so bad that pacman usually climbs up on one of the walls and tramaitcally throws him himself to the ground below... its really sad... especially in an arcade.
Posted by: itzjerm at March 18, 2004 12:33 PMOh my god! I love this game! *runs off and plays Pacman for hours while listening to the Pacman Remix*
