Simon and Garfunkel - Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Thyme (1966)

f30772ligot.jpeg

Simon and Garfunkel were the greatest duo in music history. Their ability to create melodic rock is wonderful. A true sense of what folk rock should be.this is what made s&g the true crafters of precision they were. Happy music
with a message. No one can tell a story in such a way as s&g. On P,SR,&T every song is worthy of note. But Patterns, Cloudy, Homeward Bound all describe life in such poetic terms. The Big Bright Green Pleasure Machine, 59th Street Bridge Song, A Simple Desultory Phlippic all create a happy humorous look at the times. I especially love the cracks on Mick Jagger and Bob Dylan. But the best is 7 o'clock News/Silent Night. A combination of silent night with all the bad things going on in the world.

Simon and Garfunkel - Bookends (1968)

Simon and Garfunkel were the greatest duo in music history. Their ability to create melodic rock is wonderful. A true sense of what folk rock should be. This is what made s&g the true crafters of precision they were. Happy music with a message. No one can tell a story in such a way as s&g. On Bookends, everything is wonderful. A Hazy Shade of Winter is such a great creation of season, one of my favorite things to sing about in music. And At The Zoo has an interesting look at politics, comparing animals to politians. Very Laughable. No doubt these guys are geniuses. Save the Life of my Child is almost a concept song in its self. To create something new and dense... is well always amazing, sonic random noise punctiuting explosions!
